He is the worst lawyer I've ever come across. He was assigned by the state to handle my appeal for a misdemeanor conviction...he did nothing. He actually told me he felt my conviction was justified and my sentence too lenient, even though I was a first-time offender with ZERO criminal history and was sentenced to 18 months in prison for a non-violent misdemeanor. He didn't even see a problem with the judge forcing me to attend four AA meetings per week for three months, even though the case had nothing to do with drugs/alcohol and I have no drug/alcohol related history or charges. He ignored everything I told him and when he presented his appeal, he presented them with NOTHING. Literally nothing. I later filed a habeas corpus appeal on my own and got the conviction reversed; THAT'S just how useless Charles Guthrie is. I got the conviction reversed and I'm not a lawyer. He is in lock-step agreement with the prosecution, he is their rubber stamp, and he will NOT defend you.
