I reached out to Trevor Owen to assist me with a co-habitation agreement. I needed both protection for me and fairness for my partner. Trevor is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I felt comfortable in sharing the darkest and most complex parts of my life in order for him to help me with my family case( which included criminal; real estate; and a business components). He is a good listener and very thorough. I truly believe that he has accomplished more for me than I would have been able to achieve on my own. Mr. Owen is a consummate Family Law professional. He was the final lawyer in my divorce review, I have had several and he was the best. He took over in a delayed review, 12 years after divorce. I was married for 20 years and I have been paying significant spousal support and regular child support since 2008. I wanted closure on at least the spousal support, since my ex has been cohabiting and in a relationship since almost immediately after our separation. He thoroughly explained potential outcomes in my efforts to end spousal support and drafted and negotiated a finalized agreement to close any connection to my ex; permanently. He informed me promptly about any progress or delays and reactions from opposing counsel. Also, he quickly recommended, explained and developed responses that added great weight and power to my case. I wish I had chosen him first but I am so grateful to have his excellent guidance and assistance in this matter.

Trevor prepared our family case thoroughly and factually. He prepared motions and paperwork ahead of time should the judge grant us favour. He is truly magnificent at weaving the details of a situation into the best possible outcome. We were blessed to have this man do so and we were granted all that we asked for! I have known Mr .Owen for over ten years he took on my case and saved my children from a huge threat in there lives and mine also. I would recommend Mr .Owen and. Have to everyone on legal aid and privately since my case ended 8 years ago. I am aware here that there a disgruntled person posting time and again negative reviews and this is not right. If. I don't understand why this lawyer has so many excellent ratings. I found him to be a terrible lawyer. He is very ignorant about the law; he constantly make mistakes that cost me money; he is rude and lazy;he overcharges and doesn't do too much for you; he doesn't respond to phone calls, and he doesn't answer questions. Just a terrible lawyer. I wouldn't recommend him.

I truly appreciate Trevor for taking on my difficult case. I had been in family court proceedings for 13 years and I could never seem to get any resolution. On my first visit to Trevor's office he made me feel comfortable. He has a great sense of humour which makes everyone feel at ease. He was understanding. He listened to and took into account my situation. He was never judgemental. Of the many lawyers I had seen, Trevor is the one that was able to get the job done, fast and very efficiently. He accomplished what I never thought would be possible. He was very knowledgable and ensured that I understood what was taking place throughout the proceedings. I started out owing approximately $70,000 and Trevor was able to negotiate it down to $25,000 due to my circumstances. Trevor was more than fair on the financial end of things. We have hired Trevor on many different occasions. Trevor was honest in his abilities and steered us to para-legals and the Courthouse where we could obtain documentation for either free or nominal cost. This was less expensive than having Trevor or his staff seek the paperwork we needed. When dealing with out of the ordinary, Trevor was able to point me in a direction to accomplish what I needed to do. Trevor has been supportive of our family, caring and compassionate. After dealing with a high profile firm for years due to constantly changing circumstances, I was advised to get a lawyer closer to the court where my variance order was to be submitted and to try Mr. Trevor Owen, which I did. I couldn't be happier. The difference in courtesy, expertise, professionalism, integrity, and effectiveness of Mr. Owen and his staff was remarkable and completely unexpected. I wish I'd known about him years ago. Every lawyer has to work within the constraints of the law and can't be expected to work miracles contrary to those laws. In my case, things couldn't possibly have gone better, but even if they didn't, the switch would have been worth it. My (Canadian) case was complicated by the fact that I live in the U.S. which greatly complicated matters but Trevor took it all in stride without ever summarily dismissing my arguments and suggestions as the opinions of an amateur. To anyone looking for a great lawyer, I recommend Trevor without reservation.

Trevor Helped me tremendously. He worked hard for me and got my Spousal support arrears reduced from $239,000 down to $46,000 without going to court. He's an excellent Family Law lawyer and I'd recommend him any time.

He simply makes too many mistakes. He is not very thorough and forgets things that he has already dealt with, at added cost to the client of course. He also appears to have more than one client "on the go" at court and so is unable to give each client full attention, especially if they are waiting around to see a judge at a moment's notice. It would be interesting to know if this legal, it is certainly not moral. I would not recommend him even though he appears to be nice enough.

Although he answered my calls,he lied to me saying he could settle everything, instead he was friends with the opposing Lawyer and colluded until all of my money has dissolved, he wouldn't present evidence to prove lies against me, and very poorly worded the child support issue in the final order causing me 2 more years of self represented court cases to try and settle the issue, wouldn't recomend him to anyone.

Trevor Owen, had worked on my case for over five years and was diligent in his work with the courts. As for the remarks below, lawyers DO NOT DECIDE SUPPORT it is the Family Responsibility Office.As for the woman who made claims about her ass, I have known Mr. Owen as a family man and a good christian. To state diffrent lacks any merit. It should be further known that Mr. Owen takes Legal Aid at times. This is rare, as in this day for a top tier lawyer to accept Legal Aid again shows what type of person Mr. Owen is. Suffice to say I have sent over 10 people since my case to Mr. Owens office and have had people come back to thank me for the referral. Simply put he is one of the best family lawyers in Barrie!! Lost us $20,000.00 in support and had the nerve to charge us for it. after I did $4000.00 worth of work on his home to reduce my over inflated bill he refuses to acknowledge that I did the work. Lied to me and told me he could do all these things for me and eneded up costing me an additional $1500.00 per month for child support for two 'adult' kids that claim they attend school fulltime but actually don't. A real idiot and should be trusted
