Everett Francis Fields was or has been a "referee"/judge at the Pasadena Courthouse trying traffic cases. He ignores the law and the facts,testifies on behalf of the police officer (basically acting as the officer's/city's attorney) so that the city/officer can prevail. Perhaps more troubling is that he has not had an active law license since 2003, so it is unclear as to how he is able to act as a referee/judge to hear cases?? These injustices are too common in L.A. Courts, particularly at the Pasadena court-house and surrounding courts. I would suggest striking/not stipulating to Referee Fields, so a real judge can hear the case (you have a right to strike one judge without any explanation). Not sure you'll be better off, but at least they know people are aware of their rights and what is going on.
