I found Scott M Cook, unable to complete basic remedial tasks and very hard to reach on the phone: When confronted on the matter, he was incredibly condescending and disrespectful, making assumptions with no background research or communication. He is the type of 'professional' who is looking for a quick-buck, and doesn't care how he gets it. Desperate and Derogatory

A very bad experience with this lawyer. I have assigned Mr. Cook to do my new condo for closing. First, it is very difficult to reach the lawyer by phone call, never pick up his phone. Fees increase last minute of closing day without any consent or notice prior due just find out the final price at the end and it is so close to the final closing I have no choice to pay that fees. Once the closing transaction completed. They never sending me back the full package of the closing documents.(including the status Certificate) they even ask for more money to release the full package of the status Certificate which I already paid for it. I was so disappointed about the lawyer. I m highly not recommend at all to anyone else.

We hired Scott Cook for a real estate closing and a week before closing we had to find another lawyer which caused me great stress all because CIBC doesn’t deal with him and I never got a reason why. I would think he would tell us from the start if he didn’t deal with this bank. Luckily I found a great lawyer who worked over the weekend to do all our paperwork. I requested a call from Scott Cook so I could get an explanation but he never called me back.

Great knowledge and work but must agree with the posts re: lack of communication with clients on the clerks part! Although, Mr. Cook himself made up for it in my opinion by providing so many opinions, professional, courteous and GREAT price - directly corresponded with us upon our complaint of his clerk!

Scott Cook's office is incredibly disorganized. His law clerks are disrespectful, lazy and never respond to any enquiries. I would call and wait 2 weeks for a response before attempting further correspondence, only to wait for another 2 weeks before frustration set in. Despite numerous attempts to call/fax/leave messages regarding outstanding information, I would never get a response back until I suggested that I find another lawyer. Do not go to this lawyer if you want anything done properly.
