This lawyer is incompetent. He charged 12.4 hrs to complete a 15 min application for sub service. He charged 5.6 hrs to rewrite the judge's order 4 times after it was rejected by the court clerks for errors. He charged over 4 hrs for emailing me a blank ISO application, despite this type of application not being valid in a divorce case and we agreed it did not apply during the initial appointment. I wrote all the documents and affidavits for the case, he only printed them and charged me for reading them. Total charges were 29 hrs for about 4 hrs work total, including appointments, email, etc. Be VERY careful dealing with this lawyer. I complained and requested a review, but was told the quality of his efforts could not be reviewed, just that his billed hours matched the rate. Find any other lawyer you can and avoid this person.

This guy will only find ways to suck your funds dry before dumping you on the curb the first second you struggle to make a payment. Not only that but he will go out of his way to find ways to charge you for work that you didn't ask for, charging 900 dollars to go over a large document (unsolicited). This man sucks single mothers dry and should be ashamed of himself for choosing "Family Law" to find his way of life to scam hard working Canadians. I'm also pretty sure that abandoning your client a few days before a court appearance is a violation of some sort. Looking over the stack of emails I was charged for him to type up, only 4 pages out of 50 are useful for my case, he was reluctant to share. DO NOT take on this man as your lawyer. He does not follow through with his promises and will NOT be keeping your best interests in mind over his. If you are thinking about hiring this man, please reconsider and seek help elsewhere. You will not be happy with Allyjan's performance and ethics.

Worst lawyer EVER!!! Completely incompetent. Doesn't answer emails. Outright lied at times. Threatened several times to quit. Failed to represent me in more than once. Screwed up court orders then charged me to fix them. If you've had a consultation with Mr. Allyjan and are considering hiring him... DON'T. RUN!!! As fast as you can. A first year law student could do a better job than this clown.

I had Paul as my lawyer in a parenting dispute where my ex partner ended up sexually abusing my child. I refused access out of fear and Paul fired me from being his client and I ended up having to send my child. 6 years later of fighting, I finally ended up winning, but my child now 9, had to endure through more abuse which I am now picking up the pieces. If Paul could have supported my decision and followed through, I don't think my child would have had to go through this. Do your research and find a better lawyer.

A used car salesman. A lot of fast talk and never listens to his clients. Gave poor advice that has cost me not only substantial legal fees but also I am paying too much to the ex. He never once asked questions and I tried many times to sit down and talk facts but they don't seem to matter to him only his ego!

The biggest mistake I made was retaining Paul as my lawyer! What should have been a simple non-contested divorce, and according to him should only take a few weeks has now gone on for over 2 years! He doesn't return calls or emails, makes mistakes in court documents that I have found and asked him to fix (including dates, spelling, court dates). I have now had to try and finish everything on my own. I have paid a lot of money for what? Something I have to finish myself.

Never call me back, he looks more like my husband lawyer than mine, 5 secons before we went inside de court room ask me if i want to change something in my court order when I have a meeting with him 2 weeks ago and i give him information to change the parentig time, work with him is a waste of money and time 0% nice

he dropped my case without referring me to another lawyer and left me high and dry an family allegation. He does not return phone calls and is lazy when it comes to actually doing "work". He is inexperienced and also very judgmental. He does not take directions and would like many other cheap lawyers sell you out to the crown if he can get away with. He will not listen.

Paul has been an excellent lawyer to date. He gives sound counsel, does not waste anyones time and I appreciate very much his tenacity. He is very busy & can be hard to get ahold of, but that never translates into letting stuff lag.

I have worked with Paul over the last year on a complicated divorce and he has done an excellent job and has great knowledge of the law. He listens to all of my issues and communicates with me as necessary. He has committed to getting a fair settlement for all and has always maintained my best interest.I am surprised at some of the other comments I read, it is not a big law firm and research takes time as well as client support...he can only work with what has been provided, working with a lawyer is a team effort. I intend on keeping connected with him after my case is complete and would reccomend him to my friends.

He does not take instruction, never returns calls, does not communicate with expert witnesses who drop their services in turn, does let one know where they stand. I have filed an ethics complaint with the Law Society of Alberta.
