Mimi is great, the only thing with her is her grammar isn’t always awesome and sometimes she takes a while to respond. She helped my husband get 50-50 custody of his kids and worked on getting his daughter into the school she wanted to go to as the mother always does what is best for herself and does not keep the children in mind. She is impossible to work with, lies a lot and tries to alienate their father which doesn’t work. Mimi is a bull dog and if you have an ex who is a bully, she is a great lawyer to use

I hired Mimi Marrello to handle a child support case. She wrote an initial letter to my ex with a deadline with no follow up. Later when I brought it up, She told me I had to provide a complete financial disclosure even though I was asking for only simple child support even though the forms I was asked to fill out stated otherwise. To me it appeared she has a one size fits all practice. She did not seem capable of developing a good strategy, I was concerned about certain aspects of my case being reopened, and she was pursuing a direction that seemed to be guaranteeing that undesired outcome. For the single letter she sent on my behave the cost was almost 1500 dollars. I did not feel secure with her so I terminated the relationship and got another lawyer. I am really glad I did, completely different experience with my new lawyer. Ms. Marrello is a horrible possibly unethical lawyer, and hiring her was an expensive delay in the resolution of my case. Keep looking.

I am not a negative person but Mimi is terrible. Just horrible. She overbilled for things I did not approve, she sent letters and communications I was not aware of (and found out after the fact and she billed me for that too), and worst of all, she advised me to do things like record my Ontario Children's Lawyer meetings (something I also found also later is not allowed). More trouble than she's worth but if you have her, double check all accounting and INSIST that she not hide correspondence.

The below negative review of Mimi is from my ex, who is upset her lawyer was not as knowledgeable as Mimi. Because of Mimi I was able to secure a extremely fair agreement pertaining to our high conflict case. She has always made herself available and has always been fair in her billing practices. Hire Mimi if you want someone who cares about your case.

Please do not hire this lawyer! My ex hired her and she made the process 10x more difficult for everyone involved. She would up and leave mediation to take other calls. She was not professional and frequently brought up her own family and opinions instead of focusing on facts and our case. She over-billed and doesn't know the law well.

Mimi is an excellent lawyer, who has represented me well during my family court matter. She understood the challenges I was facing with a very difficult ex. She is very knowledgeable and advised when it was worth my time and investment in adjudicating something. She very professional through-out the process. I engaged Mimi Marrello to handle my divorce case. She started out fairly good; but as time progressed I noticed a number of professional flaws, which led me to question her legal skills on the following grounds: (1) Poor command of the English Grammar and Poor reasoning skills in preparing briefs. Several times I had to correct a number of grammatical errors and had to point out to her that her conclusions do not logically follow from the premise in the briefs; (2) violation of the terms of the engagement agreement by incurring legal costs over and above that which was agreed to without first getting my consent; (3) Making decisions for me and then asking me to sign off on the decisions she made without first discussion same with me; (4)Failure to adequately prepare the case before filing briefs; (5) On one occasion she sought to offer advise to the opposing party that was not in the best interest of my case; and (6) Questionable billing practices

My experiences with Mimi have been nothing short of terrible. She frequently lies about her availability, then makes extensive excuses when she is late. She constantly short-serves opposing council, leaving plaintiffs with no time to respond to accusations with a reply. She forces scheduling conflicts on purpose so that she can reschedule court dates and charge you more money for it. Her correspondence is terrible, riddled with mistakes that she charges you to fix. She has been with at least 4 different firms in the last 4 years - this says A LOT because good lawyers work their way up to Partner, not continually leave law firms for reasons undisclosed. In short, she talks a good talk, and plays a great 'game' if the game is pocketing your money and completely screwing up your case. I believe that the positive review was written by herself. Run the other way.

Mimi represented me during one of the most difficult times in my life and was exactly the person I needed in my corner. She was professional, confident and knowledgeable. She was referred to me by my collaborative lawyer after that process failed and I had serious concerns about the safety of my children and myself. I found myself in unfamiliar territory with a million questions and concerns. Mimi was 100% in my corner, with a clear and direct plan of action that addressed all of my questions and concerns. I truly can't thank her enough for wading through that difficult time with me and getting me and my kids safely to the other side of it all.

Runs around in circles to maximize billable hours. No spine dealing with Feminist Judge. Accepts the spousal support guidelines as Law, even though they are not Law. Wishes your Ex good luck even though your Ex just screwed your ass. Does not answer your questions. Lies. Communicates with opposing counsel without your knowledge. Too friendly with opposing Counsel. Does not reply to emails.Total waste of money......It's a woman's world, don't trust any of them, they all lie. If your wife leaves you, ignore her lawyer's request to retain legal Counsel... You will get screwed no matter what. Women are devious and they stick together, let the Courts screw you, you have no choice, a lawyer for a man is nothing but a money pit. Mimi Marrello sure was for me... Good Luck...
