Dr. Charlie Unger IS the best attorney in Los Angles/Glendale/Pasadena and surrounding areas. Hands down! Unfortunately for me, I have had a few court cases and other legal matters where attorneys were needed. For my false criminal charge, I knew I had an uphill battle against the complex justice system. I interviewed about 10 attorneys, from Woodland Hills, to downtown LA, to Santa Clarita. One common theme is that the other attorneys I consulted with did NOT even care to take notes.
Dr. Charlie is also a psychologist/psychotherapist! Criminal legal matters are often complex, time consuming, and VERY stressful. Dr. Charlie handled my stress and anxiety in the most compassionate, caring, and patient manner. When facing our overburdened court system with lengthy delays, patience is the greatest asset you have. Dr. Charlie will help you "chill out" and not make any irrational and impulsive decision or take bad plea deals. He knows what it takes to beat the prosecutor.

Charlie Unger is a lawyer of integrity. He is straightforward, honest, and always out for his client's best interest. He is at your disposal pretty much 24/7, and in those instances when he's not, (because he's in court,) he immediately gets back to you via text or email to let you know he'll get back to you A.S.A.P. My main take away from being his client however, is his followthrough. He will stick with you from start to finish, no matter how long it takes; whether it's weeks, months, or in my case, years. You'd be lucky to have a lawyer like Charlie Unger in your corner.

Charlie was great! He was honest, responsive,and on top of my case and promptly answered all of my questions via phone, email, or in person. He got my case down to a lessor charge as promised and refunded me for services not used. I would recommend him without reservation.

Charlie was responsive, efficient, and honest. He took each of my calls and responded promptly to emails over the 14 months during which he represented me. He spent his time and my money well, always ensuring I was in the loop. Most importantly, Charlie was honest and ethical. He refunded me when I was overcharged and he was transparent with each financial decision we made. Overall, it was a pleasure to deal with Charlie, and having him in my corner was an enormous stress-reducer. Would 100% recommend.

Don't believe the hype. Charlie delayed my case for over a year for no reason--i still got a misdemeanor conviction even with no prior convictions on my record--other attorneys have advised me that it should have been dismissed. Charlie charged me over $7,000 not including specialist ($1,00 for a breathlyzer who showed up 45 minutes late for the hearing) and copy, messenger and other random fees. After paid, Charlie got mean--often he didn't remember me and I would have to restate my name and details of my case. He tried to eplit my emotional distress by attempting to refer to me one of his therapist friends--one of the few times he called me back on my case. His office was a typhoon-with no place to walk or sit. He will meet you in the conference room but press to see his office to know what you are getting--you will see. Don't make the mistake of being impressed by the celebrity cases like I was.

In a nutshell: They are very expensive, I was "semi-pleased" with my case result, but they have such ***TERRIBLE*** customer service and an incompetent billing department that I cannot give this place more than one star. I would never do business with them again. To sum it all up, I wanted clarification on my bill (because the bills were inaccurate, then they wouldn't return my emails, then my bill increased over 100%) - this process has taken 5 weeks and 4 days so far; and I still do not have the answers to my questions, no one has acknowledged any mistake or wrong doing, and to top it all off I was verbally abused by Charlie Unger's assistant/accountant/office manager/ overall terrible human being Robyn Reilman. This woman verbal abused me and even shouted, "He's full of****" into my face while I was on the phone with Charlie - who laughed it off and refused to schedule an appointment because he was out of state.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Consider yourself warned.
