good listener but also told me when I would be wasting my money on little things instead of big picture which was hard to hear but absolutely bang on true. I did not understand the pension stuff and the taxes on the accounts and she was super at calming me down and explaining it to me Her staff are excellent and open early so that helped me going to her office before work.

Just went through a very rough divorce with a very difficult ex. Kirsten and her team (special mention to Cory) stood up for me, empathized with me and negotiated a fair deal on my behalf. I am very happy with their services. Note that they mean it when they say it will take a while, so be patient and let them do what they do best.

I rated "Communication" quite low, based on my entire experience with Kirsten. I did express my unhappiness about that to her a year ago, and if rating Kirsten's communication performance since then I would rate it a "4" or a "5". Also, in retrospect, I think she had a strategic reason for being so slow and so uncommunicative in the early going, it was her way of not letting me accept a "poor deal" just to get a "quick deal". In the end, Kirsten got me a divorce Settlement that I am very satisfied with. In one way I am sorry that my process is now over, as I always enjoyed my meetings with Kirsten: she has a very good mix of being a highly proficient lawyer, as well as showing enough of her own humanity to develop a relationship. Also, and this is important to me, she evidently and actively has a social conscience.

I don't have a single bad thing to say about Kirsten and her very helpful and hardworking staff. If Kirsten was out of the office or occupied I could rest assured that Joanne could help me in the meantime and I was always kept in the loop of what was going on. They made things happen fast and wrapped up 5 years worth of fighting in record time. I had gone through 2 lawyers in the past and got absolutely nowhere. They were organized, honest and realistic so there were no surprises. She made sure to give me options as to not cost me too much and always had myself and my sons best interest at heart. I wish i could have found her sooner and saved myself years of money and headache. I never doubted her or her staff and they definitely went above and beyond.

Madsen is exactly the kind of lawyer that gives lawyers a bad name ; she is defending my soon to be EX ; Madsen does not respond promptly to my lawyer's messages, does not act in a sincere manner, basically plays dirty. Just when one thinks that a conclusion is imminent, Madsen rewrites the script and puts everything back to square one. In my mind she is the worst ! As i say, exactly why most people have such a strong dislike for lawyers

Ms. Madsen is a straight shooter who doesnt waste your time... In a year and a half I had one telephone conference and 2 office visits and Ma. Madsen produced a very satisfactory outcome for me. So happy I retained her services.

I feel very lucky to have had Kirsten working on my behalf on my ICBC case. She was obviously very knowledgable and experienced in this area, and the outcome was very good. She put a lot of time and effort into what I suspected was a relatively small case, and pushed through tenaciously til it was resolved. Highly recommended!

Ms Madsen executed my divorce for me. She gave me a fair quote upfront and completed my divorce much sooner than I had anticipated. She is very professional, personable and most importantly knowledgeable.I had a great experience and her Paralegal Joanne was fantastic. I would recommend Ms Madsen to anyone.

In the initial consultation, Kirsten comes across as very motivated, and caring, like she is really going to take care of you and make you a priority. Behind her seamless dress suit, she is everything but.... I was rear ended 6 months ago when I was 13 weeks pregnant. I lost my baby, and have severe shoulder and neck problems and minor nerve damage. I now am suffering from depression& anxiety Due to financial reasons I'm unable to go to physio consistently. My antidepressants and adavan cost me over $200 a month, and because of the mix of the two, I am unable to take anything that has anti inflammatories so I'm constantly in pain. She iis now trying to get me to settle my case with icbc because "I haven't been seeking medical attention regularly.' Kirsten is disorganized, doesn't return phone calls, misses appointments, and will quickly make you feel forgotten and unimportant. Is there any way to change attorneys... I wish I did my research on her before signing paperwork.

Kirsten did not return calls or emails. She contradicted herself. She had to confirm notes she had made as she could not recall what we decided on or understand her notes -costing me extra money. Kirsten came across rushed and disorganized. I did not recieve an invoice for 5 months. Her legal assistant lied to me on more than one occasion. I am an educated well adjusted person who just wants to have a fair settlement. I am not criticizing because I am bitter or such. Kirsten kept dropping the balls -I find it amazing that she is still in business!

At first she says the right things and you think you have an ace. Once she has your deposit you will be treated like a vile pleb. Arrogant, rude, extremely pathetic communication. Do not expect to be in the loop, do not expect she's working hard for you. Obscene rate charges considering this is Nanaimo. She will cut you off mid-sentence and fill in the blanks herself which is unfortunate since she's wrong most of the time in her assumptions. RUN!

Poor ratings for knowledge because nothing ever seemed to be produced, communication is abysmal. Phone calls were not returned, phone appointments not kept, emails went completely unanswered. Tenacity, work quality, and value are all fared poorly because again nothing ever seemed to be forthcoming. Perhaps she is tenacious and working hard, but as her client, without any communication there's really no way to judge. Would not recommend her for anything.

I retained Kirsten to complete a complicated divorce process. My previous lawyer was organized & efficient, but lacked tenacity. Therefore, I believed Kristen to be more suitable. To be fair, I rated her work quality & knowledge as good. My main issue was her communication style. I experienced her as overbearing, tense, & invalidating. She interrupted me, talked over me, & didn't take the time to understand my situation very well. There were times when I felt very alone & not supported by her. I got the distinct impression that she was not working for me; she was working for herself. Once she didn't return my telephone messages or email requests to discuss a crucial matter for over 2 weeks. Respectful communication is crucial to me. In the end, I have spent all of my savings to fund this protracted divorce settlement process and carry a further debt of $30,000.00 that will take me years to pay off. A disappointing outcome for a lot of money.
