The worst divorce attorney! My x-husband is a horrible influence on our child and Gary did nothing to protect my child or my rights. Gary was the first one with his hand out for his money. He never filed paperwork that was filled out. My child is suffering the consequences for Gary's mismanagement of our divorce.

I was lucky to see him for what he is before he skipped town. He still managed to completely mess up my case. I'm getting my client file from The State Bar of California because they "assumed jurisdiction over the law practice of attorney Gary Matta" in January 2012. Now I'll be able to see just how little him and his office did for me. Maybe I can find something actionable...I can only hope...

It has been 1 year since i fired Matta's firm and i still haven't rec'd any word about by retainer or any paperwork at all, worst decision of my life!

Gary never filed one document on my behalf; he cleaned out his office and disappeared with my entire retainer. He is apparently a thief and con, beware is an understandment...I advise you to run the other direction.

this man will screw u over worse than your ex ever could! He took 2 yrs to steal all my money that i would have got out of this divorce. then he just disappeared no way to reach him regarding my quadro. changed his number and left town or for all i know hes dead!

was a horrible choice. i left my old attorney in thoughts that he would represent me better. i was WAY off. took deposit and after one day in court said already was out of money. wouldnt recommend him to a person i hated. Fathers seek Representation somewhere else!

Don't even know where to start with this guy. No return phone calls, no return emails, not much of anything. You have to hound him to death to do anything. Just do yourself a favor and find another attorney. Nothing but heartburn with this one.

In Feb 2009, I hired this lawyer to finish a divorce that two previous lawyers failed to do. Gary said it would be done in 3 months. It is now Dec 2010 and the divorce was finalized in Oct; however, the QDROs are still not completed. I have lost my house and all possessions and have no money. I rely on my daughter to pay my bills each month. Six weeks ago I met with Gary to discuss the QDROs and today (12/27/10) I have still not heard anything back. His office does not return phone calls or emails. They sit on paperwork and make me (the client) look incompetent when it is HIM that is incompetent. I just want to be divorced and have all the settlements completed. DO NOT HIRE HIM! He will string you along worse than your ex ever will.

Amazing! He knew what to say and do to make my divorce go by with ease. Although I didn't get everything I wanted from my ex, I did get what i expected in a lawyer. Calls were returned timely, finished papers on time and knew all details. He was great!

I hired Mr. Matta based on the hope that I would get my case finished in a timely and cost efficient manner. After over a year of little to no communication, re-setting trial dates, mis-information, and an over-all lack of interest for my case; I still got nothing done. I had to hire another lawyer who got the job done in 3 months. Would not recommend Mr. Matta's office.

LOUSY attorney. Lied about costs, failed to take any sort of appropriate action for the divorce. Cost us a small fortune and got zero done. We hired someone else and had it done in a month. He charged for things he said he wouldn't and post-poned things repeatedly because of his own incompetence.

Mr. Matta is a very honest, great lawyer. When I hired him he was very up front and told me that it would be a long road and that that getting my kids would not be easy. But he made it happen and I am so thankful. It is not cheap to have a lawyer, but he was fair and got the job done. I would strongly recommend him to anyone going through child custody problems. He is very knowledgable and fights for you.

Do not use this attorney. He will take your money and then you will not hear anything from him. Legal documents and important dates will sit without response. I paid him over six thousand dollars and now have to go and obtain new counsel and begin the entire process over again. You can never get a call back or response from his office and he does not do the required monthly billings, per the CA state bar. You will just be told that he is no longer working on your case because you have no more money. Do yourself a favor and go to a different attorney!!!

Excellent lawyer. He worked very hard for me on my divorce and got me the results I needed when my previous attorney got nowhere. In court he was very assertive but reasonable. He was fair, honest and his staff were very helpful as well. He is very busy but I always felt like my case was important. I have recommended him to others and will continue to do so!
