We were sued for some concrete on a project for $8,000. Unsure of what to do (should we just pay it, or go to court and fight it?), we talked to this lawyer. He convinced us that we would totally win our case... Ha. He made us sign an open ended contract that would make him tons of money. Well we LOST our case, and owed $18,000 (because they awarded the plaintiff their lawyers fees as well). Then our lawyer charged us $30,000 to represent us... FOR AN $8,000 PROBLEM. So he turned an $8,000 problem into a $50,000 problem for us. Oh, and he sued us for non payment and has a judgement against us and empties our bank accounts anytime he wants to. Awesome. He is a scoundrel and a crook. This had devastated us and our family. He has zero empathy for our situation and truly believes that he was worth the $$ he charged.
