I was represented by this lawyer in June 2006. I felt that once he had my retainer, he lost interest in my case. It was very difficult to speak to him, I tried my times to contact him by telephone to discuss my case and address my questions. I was shocked that I was billed for time when I spoke to his secretary. The bill was outrageously high. When he did appear in court on my behalf, he seemed nervous and not at all knowledgeable. Please be sure you research your attorney and perhaps observe him or her in the court room. It'd give you a good idea of what to expect. Also, BEFORE retaining one, make sure you understand exactly what you will billed for and how much. Best of luck. I would not recommend this attorney (or his daughter, Amy Van Sickle) to anyone- I'd actually caution them!!
