Don't trust this attorney. I'm his natural father who raised him from infancy until he was eight. He and others in his support group are suspects in the suspicious death of his mother that is an ongoing investigation. Mom and Dad know their children best. Modesto police have not cooperated in the investigation and it is moving to federal court next.

I came to Mr. Kalanta 4 years ago with a divorce case that was not easy, in fact it was a complete mess. He could have turned me away because it was difficult but he didn't. Mr. Kalanta is an honest, hardworking lawyer. He is knowledgeable about the law and he will fight for you in the courtroom.

Being a father and fighting the stereotypes that fathers never get their children when it comes to fighting the court... I was relieved the very first meeting with Mr. Kalanta. Very professional and he knew strategies and connections like a lawyer should when it comes to fighting for the best interest for your child.
Hiring Mr. Kalanta put my fears to rest, knowing I have a very respected lawyer in the court and ultimately my respect as well. Very detailed in what I needed and what I should be doing to have a better chance when it comes to my case and situation.
Mr. Kalanta really made me feel more positive and was able to handle the ordeal much better, keeping me focused for my child.
To put it in perspective: I have had 2 lawyers before and about 4 consultations before contacting Mr. Kalanta and they do not compare. Truly powerful and aggressive, he helped me put so much legal pressure for a result I was truly satisfied with.

After getting no where with my past attorney(s), I found Mr. Kalanta and retained him. He was able to reduce my alimony the first court appearance.Then later terminate it without even appearing in court. He is extremely knowledgeable in Family Law and its Case Law. He is tenacious in the courtroom. I finally felt I had someone on my side. Mr. Kalanta has a strong Christian belief which I appreciated. He didn't make me feel like a client, he made me feel like his good friend. Finding Mr. Kalanta and his law firm was a true blessing. During my time in the military I used to always tell my junior Marines and Soldiers, Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF). So here is my BLUF: Mr Kalanta helped me get custody of my Son, we can get a fresh start in Texas. As a Veteran it was important to find an attorney that was a veteran and shared the same family values that we do. Mr. Kalanta understood the VA process and what it truly means to be a Veteran. I signed Mr. Kalanta in 2014 for what I knew was going to be a long, drawn out and honestly brutal child custody battle. In 2017 we got it done, it was the right thing to do for my three kids, they were living in a horrible situation, Mr. Kalanta and his law team represented me well and got it done. Yes, tough cases like these take a lot of hard work on both the parent and law firm, yes, it costs a lot of money to fight for custody of children, those were basic expectations of mine going into the legal preceding's, not knowing what the outcome might be is the unknown part of this, Mr. Kalanta and his law firm walked me through it all, every step of the way we did it together. Mr. Kalanta fought hard for me in the court room, he always stayed professional, even when I wanted to loose my cool. Mr. Kalanta is an excellent family law/divorce lawyer! I had been dealing with a nightmare divorce of 3 years and needed help finalizing it and getting custody of my son as well. I regret my decision using this attornay.He made me believe that he could help me win my custody case now over 6 months later i still do not have any real answers.when i first went in they seemed real caring and professional but as time has gone on with no real results so has my savings!still no custody plan,i feel like he is for my x husband hardly sticks up for me meantime i get billed for any and everything.being a single mom with few dollars was the reason i first went here i have been regretting that decision ever since!i cant afford to go to a new attorney!this mother of 2 is very disappointted!! dont waste your time and money :(

I have used Michael Kalanta twice over the last 6 years for custody issues and he has been phenomenal both times. It's a large expense to hire an attorney and it's important you feel cared for and that your attorney is willing to fight for you and Michael will do just that! I recently obtained a passport for my son so we could take vacation and the agency didn't like the wording of my court order. Michael was very responsive and quick to address and correct this issue. Michael and his staff are eager, competent, and professional to work with.

Michael is truly one of the most honest men working in family law. I am active duty in the US Army, and he helped to get my kids passports and approval to come visit me in Germany on my PCS leave from my Deployment. Divorce and fighting for custody of children is not an easy process. In my case, it's has been a nightmare. After over 2 years, we are still trying to negotiate a fair custody arrangement for my son and daughter. Mike is almost too honest to be a lawyer. Mike had well-thought plan for my case. Mr. Kalanta is the worst lawyer I will ever come across. He did absolutely nothing for my case except collect his dollars. He does not care to do anything for his client and kept replying "what do you want me to do?" When I was always honest and everything was in my favor. If I knew the law and could defend my case why would I ask for your defense. The petitioner's lawyer defended his client. My lawyer kept asking me what do you want me to do? At least provide a little d dense for your client. If you went through law school you should be able to apply the law to your client's case.

Mr. Kalanta helped me through a bitter divorce and kept overall fees down. I wanted to divide things evenly but, keep my retirement and he helped me do that. Most importantly, after it was over, he went the extra mile and wrote a letter on my behalf which helped me to buy a home.

Hello my name is Elizabeth before I met with Mr. Kalanta I looked into a few different lawyers also even talked and met up with them but once I met with Michael he was very up front and knows what he can and can't do and sits and looks at every angle of my case. I have had Mr. Kalanta for a little over three months and he has been great nothing but positive and good things have happened he has got me what I want and more I am fighting a child custody and child support case and restraining order and he's been great. He takes his time and listening to your opinions and tells you what he can and can't do. Before coming into Mr. kalantas office I had spoken with two other attorneys at different locations going off of their yelp reviews and personally didn't have a very good consult/experience with them and was beginning to feel discouraged but after a friend referred me to his office and I sat down with Mr Kalanta he immediately started an action plan for my case with me planning the right steps and counter acts and even future counter acts. They took the weight and stress off my shoulders for me. He worked with me financially as well. Do not hire this attorney...He does not do his due diligence, just wants your money. He is very dishonest...Sent us bogus billing for last couple of hundred dollars so he could zero out the books... Not to mention I swear I knew more than he did...Something that should have taken a couple of weeks took months...Terrible client service, very insufficient office personnel. Hired him to settle a divorce since I did all the paperwork, all he had to do was settle with the other lawyer, came down to, "oh I forgot to tell you, your wife can sue you for her lawyer's fees" (over $6,000) could have settle six months earlier had we known this little fact... Not an experienced lawyer, very dishonest and lies, lies, lies....
