This guy is an absolute hack. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism from anyone else in ANY professional capacity. He doesn't return phone calls, tries to placate to the other side, is not assertive or effective in any case settlement conferences, has bilked me out of thousands of dollars promising that mediation would offer the desired resolution only to have to schedule a trial after making that promise, cannot speak clearly and has been admonished by judges in settlement conferences. He cannot remember why he is calling or even recall deatils of a case when you speak with him as he will consistently let months lapse between communication. If you attempt to call his actions out he becomes easily offended and tries to end the client relationship. If you are looking for a good attorney, steer clear.

poor service, inexperienced, not good value for money, doesn't follow through with promises and agreements, goes months without contact/ignores client even though $5000+ retainer remaining, refuses to return oustanding retainer and case file after being fired....did i miss anything Shawn?
forced me to contact law society of ontario (LSO) to file an investigation in order to get my retainer and case file returned

Horribly unorganized. Stringing both sides (of the dispute) along for months and months with no progress. Forgets the reason for phone calls. Does not return correspondence in timely manner (or at all sometimes). Can't really comment on knowledge as seems to know enough.

A very sincere, hard working and fair lawyer. He tries to help and in my did a lot for in my family court matter ,I will highly recommend him to any one who requires a good efficient and very resourceful, reasonable with rates.

I am not one to write reviews but I need to make people aware of a # of things regarding this lawyer. Shawn was my lawyer for over 1 yr and it was a nightmare experience from the beginning! He is terribly disorganized,important documents had errors like wrong DOB causing problems retrieving proper bank info from the banks. I had a forensic acct on my team and he wouldn't communicate with him making it extremely stressful. He is not very knowlegable of family law as I have experienced with my new lawyer. He told me he'd never seen a better case to win but my new experienced lawyer showed me the law document requirements which I clearly did not have costing me $$$ time and alot of stress!I also had to fight with him and his staff over 1 issue that would have cost me another $50,000! Yes that number is correct! Thank goodness I stood my ground. Spent at least $10,000 and had only been in court once!! Expensive but not worth it! Find someone with more experience!!

This lawyer was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He is kind, compassionate and tries to promote reasonable settlement rather than run up legal fees. This lawyer truly works for his clients and my experience was great.
