I retained Alex to represent me in my family law case that had to go to court. Previously, I had been in a collaborative law process that was going nowhere. Although Alex recommended that I start a court proceeding, Alex continued to negotiate and settled my case quickly. He gave me realistic expectations and exceeded them. Before every court appearance, we discussed outcomes and achieved a goal at each step. He moved my case forward until it settled in an effective way. He was also not afraid to go to court and he did not advise me to compromise where I didn't have to. He was also blunt with his advice where I needed to compromise. He achieved the outcome that I wanted. His fees were reasonable compared to what I had been paying to my previous lawyer without results. I highly recommend Alex.

Alex took over my case after it had been in court for 2 years. My case involved custody issues, my wife wanted to move away with our three children and it also involved child and spousal support. I hired Alex to do my trial. My previous lawyer did not have my case ready for trial. Alex got my case ready for trial and settled it. Alex saved me thousands of dollars in legal fees and got me a very good result.

My case was voluminous and even more convoluted as a cause of my ex wife and her very aggressive counsel. I had retained a lawyer prior to Mr. Finlayson, however my bills were high and very little was done. Mr. Finlayson came highly recommended by a senior partner at a large law firm. The size of the court file was daunting. Mr. Finlayson found every sentence that supported me and won my case. Mr. Finlayson was amazing in court. To the point, succinct, and he even corrected my ex wife's counsel more than once. I cannot imagine anyone being better prepared. I cannot imagine anyone working harder. I cannot imagine anyone being more blunt and honest. I did not waste a single cent with Mr. Finlayson and despite the complexity of my case it could not have been handled better or more efficiently. I would not have another lawyer.

If you are a man, I would highly recommend that you DO NOT go to see Mr. Finlayson. My husband and I hired Mr. Finlayson and eventually ended up firing him. He ended up costing us money until we became knowledgeable about the law ourselves. We hired another lawyer and could not be happier. The new lawyer took over our case and everything has run so smoothly since then. Mr. Finlayson prejudges your situation and seems to highly favour women. We are so thankful that we fired Mr. Finlayson and haved saved a lot of money since. Again, if you are a man, both my husband and I would strongly recommend that you hire someone else who will listen to you, not judge your situation and work for the benefit of you, not your ex wife.

Alex is a brilliant and wise man. He is extremely knowledgeable and always provided me with realistic outcomes for my situation. My case was complicated. I had been represented by a moron before I met Alex and my case was like a horse running out of control. He took over the reigns with extreme skill and eased that horse back onto the road. He won my case and my child is as safe as possible because he fought for what I believed in. Ethical. Brilliant. Never wasted my time or money. Alex is all you will need in a lawyer.
