Mr. Schaffer is an excellent lawyer. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, and very professional. He has been my lawyer for many years. He can get the job done well every time. He has a good team working for him. I definitely recommend this lawyer to anyone who needs legal services.

I am shocked to see his overall rating. I am also shocked to see Grant Schafer’s rating. I have heard nothing but great things about Grant Schafer. Wish I had heard them before hiring Gerry. Perhaps people who have rated them are getting them confused. The only positive things I can say about Gerry (you’ll notice I don’t respect him enough to refer to him as Mr. Schaffer) is that he is not a total idiot and he is persistent. Of course that persistence is in getting your case over with even if it means agreeing to everything the other party asks for. He can take weeks to answer an email and if / when he does he won’t address all your questions / concerns. In fact he’ll berate you for emailing him and asking questions. If you have questions about his family, he’ll be more than happy to answer. In fact, he’ll spend at least have of your appointments telling you about his family even though you didn’t ask. He couldn’t care less about me or my family. Don’t walk, RUN! from this lawyer.

I have had nothing but problems with this man and his office. But as a bonus for all of my troubles, I am elegible for writing up a free will with them... NO THANKS! I do not want any more ties to this place

I found Gerry and his office staff very patient,understanding and respectful of my senior mother. With the stress of the closing of one house, purchase of another, will and POA Gerry has made the process less painful and less complicated. I don't have a lot of experience with lawyers, but I believe this law group does what they say they will do, are organized, prepared for anything and affordable.I know half the mess wouldn't have been cleared up if Gerry wasn't ontop of everything and working with us. Thank goodness they are there!!

My experience with Gerry was very rewarding. He was wise and used good judgement. I believe his advise made a difference in the outcome of my situation. I also used Gerry for my house closing. As a single women buying a house on her own, it was very stressful, and Gerry was on top of it. He and Zack were amazing!

I had used Gerry for 2 court cases, he had fought for what was best for me and my daughter with my exs showed in his parent. Gerry had fought for things had to change. The first time around he was showing his son zack the ropes. Gerry and his son were very respectful, knowledge and the few lawyers that have heart left. Gerry staff are very welcoming and nice. Divorce can be an ugly mess and resolving issues can be near impossible. After dealing with several so called reputable lawyers in the Kitchener area who basically took money I could not afford to lose with little to no resolution, I went seeking a fair and honest lawyer. I happened upon Gerry Schaffer in Kitchener. After several conversations with Gerry I found him to have a very high level of integrity and ethics I had not found before. He dealt with my issues and the constant barrage of road blocks with complete professionalism. His rates are very fair and if compared with the work he accomplishes, you cannot afford to not use his services. Most people would not believe the grief and problems I went through unless they are experiencing it themselves. Gerry Schaffer helped relieve the stresses of this process and managed everything required to allow me to have resolution and closure. I was seeking a separation agreement as well as a will and divorce with another lawyer and I was betrayed by that lawyer and lost a lot of money and got absolutely nothing in return. I came to Gerry Schaffer and he gave me everything I wanted within a year plus he represented me in my small claims court case against my former lawyer. I won the case and will hopefully be reimbursed for my losses. Gerry was always very professional but he really cared about my well-being in a difficult situation. His rates are very fair and he always gets back to you quickly and gets things done efficiently. I would recommend him to anybody. He practices all kinds of law which is very handy. I will retain him as my lawyer when I sell my house next!

I have had Gerald as my Lawyer since 1990 he has handled Legal separation, child support, Divorce, real estate, Wills, and business advice. I could never imagine anyone else looking after my affairs. His honesty and advice is beyond what you would expect from a Lawyer. Never have I ever felt like its a money gig, on many occasions he would be honest and tell me I would be just wasting my money. I have recommended Gerald to my friends and they also feel the same way. There have never been a call made that he hasn't returned when his schedule allows him and its always a friendly conversation before we discuss business. Personable and Professional is what he represents. Highly Recommended.

Have retained G.S. on several occasions.Each time he has been efficient meticulous and has made me feel at ease throughout the process. On each occasion he has reassured me and has given me sound advice; and has paid attention to every detail. Since I have dealt with Mr. Schaffer on several occasions he has never once promised me the world and whatever he predicted, the outcome was very close without any outrages extra court fees.When my parents were around housebound, and wanted to make a will Mr. Schaffer came to their home made up their will AND also would NOT take any fees from them. IF necessary he is also available very early during the morning or evenings and once I had to call him at home and he had no problems answering my questions without any added fees.His fees has always been reasonable. I have also recommended couple of my own patients and they have also been very satisfied with their outcomes; and their dealings with Mr Schaffer I will highly recommend him any day.

Absolutely awful lawyer. Be prepared to wait 2-4 months for a REPLY from Gerry when dealing with a separation. He's not aggressive whatsoever, and you will end up with nothing in the end. He has NO idea how to deal with child support inquiries / questions and is NOT clear when answering questions. It's rare that all questions even get answered in an email. You'll spend more time hearing about his family and kids (while he charges $350 per hour as you sit and listen) than getting anything done. Find another layer if you want to win your case and/or any money and/or child support.

I have had the displeasure of retaining a lawyer for my daughters shop lifting charge. Gerry was very effective in both the handling of the charges and taking the time to speak to my daughter and offering some solid advice, it worked. I have also had Gerry handle personal matters again very professional and competitive pricing. Gerry made the experience of requiring a Lawyer a little less painful.

He handled my divorce. My abusive husband was able to take me for everything because Mr. Schaffer did nothing. It was difficult to be fearful for my safety, but to go through this lengthy process with a lawyer who could care less was horrifying. Never failed when I would go see him about my case I would spend a significant amount of time hearing about his wife and kids...When it was over with I was left with a bill I struggled to pay because my ex husband got everything. If you need help with a divorce I would run far away from this man!!!
