lawyers work for owners not board of directors yet when presenting bylaw changes he does not provide the changes just the proposed new wording so each owner would need to try and find what the changes are ? this is not a good way to get informed consent , it feels like we are asked to make decisions without the facts in front of us. both the board and our lawyers should be more transparent with owners

Condo residents were forced to deal with this disgusting law firm. Consensus was to lobby the board to have them fired.

Mr. Deo's professionalism, knowledge and thoughtful attention to issues, confirms his good work. He has been a pleasure to deal with.

Some of our condo residents have found that this disgusting, insecure piece of trash has been trolling both our own CLOSED community social media page as well as those of the residents.

Mario Deo and Francisco Deo act was very unprofessional. Very manipulative in board election. They profit comes first. They do not care for condo owners rights.

Knows condo law inside and out. His specialty is representing condominium corporations.

Mario wrote an updated bylaw for our condo corp. Another lawyer discovered language that would hurt residents and their ability to be compensated for damage that would not be their fault. The condo board is now trying to get the bylaw revised, but he is not responding or cooperating.

Mario did not follow through. He did not return phone calls or emails for weeks at a time. I had to hire someone else to finish the job that he failed to finish. My next lawyer achieved more in two weeks!

A bad day for a law firm (Fine & Deo Condominium Lawyers) as legal fees ordered assessed
In an unusually critical decision, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice had harsh words for a prominent Condo law firm’s actions and bills. The judge felt that the law firm’s FEES WERE “EXCESSIVE”, its BEHAVIOUR WAS “IRRESPONSIBLE,” and that it took ACTIONS THAT ADDED AN “ELEMENT OF DRAMA to what normally would be a mundane commercial matter.”

Mario Deo handled our condominium purchase competently and professionally. He provided us great assistance in negotiating our purchase and sale agreement, protecting our interests. He was pleasant and understanding and we highly recommend Mario for anyone requiring the best in legal assistance when purchasing or selling condominiums in the greater Toronto area.

my condo asked him to sent a letter to us and he charged us ~$350 for warning letter on pest control. we paid and wondered how 350 came to be. the guy then gave us an invoice of 110 for explaining how they charged the 350. i'm truly disappointed on how greedy Mario Deo is!!!

Stay away from this lawyer. He doesn't care and uses all means, e.g. he asked for important legal artefacts under the statements "I need to review" and eventually destroyd them (with the silly excuse "I gave to somebody who destroyed them") because these documents would break his case. Even the judge felt that his (Mario Deo is the founder and partner of Fine & Deo) law firm’s fees were “excessive”, its behavior was “irresponsible,” and that it took actions that added an “element of drama to what normally would be a mundane commercial matter".
