Before hiring Joseph to defend you on SA charges do some research and ask him how many cases he’s won vs pleaded or lost in the past 10 years! He’s very confident yet his record doesn’t support that! Once retained be prepared for a constant reminder of payments. Try to speak with him about anything else ie your fears, the actual case, what he’s doing etc will be met with disdain and arrogance! He’ll tell you repeatedly how great he is, yet I was never privy to any of his savy intellectual legal prowess he advertises! 3+ years of him stalling and constant billing - then pretrial at which time I became worried as he dropped the ball several times. A year after that finally a trial date and his rates went up an additional $15k. Then he encouraged me to plead. In the end I sought different council. Went to trial and was acquitted with no thanks to JN. There’s much I couldn’t include however to conclude I’d never endorse this man on any level! Good luck to you… pls find a different lawyer!

Mr. Neuberger saved my life. I was in a very difficult place in my life and I really needed a lawyer who was sharp, knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. Mr. Neuberger is a master of his craft and got me off a horrible sexual assault case. I am very happy that I found him. He is honest, truthful, and doesn't hold back to fight for his clients. There may be a lot of good lawyers in Toronto but I can say without a doubt, Mr. Neuberger is one of the best in the city.

Charged with sexual assault? Do not hire J Neuberger! He’ll tell you how great he is repeatedly and how your case is defensible then the fund J Neuberger campaign starts! Communication is terrible; it’s not like someone who’s charged with such a crime may be scared, or need reassurance from their attorney - you won’t get it from him unless he wants more money which he will over and over. He’ll drag your case out as long as possible to ensure his billing’s are at maintained as long as possible. Then when push comes to shove and he may actually have to go to trial due to his inability to deal his way out; he’ll tell you to plead; regardless of the outcome for you. Yeah he told me I should go to jail after paying him for four years. In short I found another lawyer, a competent one this time and went to trial where I was found not guilty no thanks to mr arrogant jerk Neuberger. Over $35k I paid him and then had to argue just to get files of the little work he’d done! Stay away!!

Some of these posts are surprising. I was recommended Joe and his team and they were awesome. They believed me and they got my case thrown out on a Charter issue. They know their case law too!!

I have worked with many lawyers as an advocate for the falsely accused. Joseph not only cares about his clients, his knowledge and skills in trial can't have a price put on them. When you are facing incarceration for a crime you didn't commit, the cost of a proper defence is minimal compared to the price of a wrongful conviction.

Joseph has excellent knowledge especially involving sexual assault cases. If you have very deep pockets then he may be an option for you - however be prepared to keep his pockets full through your "war chest"! His main topic of conversation is always when you are going to pay more? Followed closely by what a great lawyer he is and how well revered he is by his peers and judges alike. He is narcissistic and at times arrogant. The irony is if the case gets tough he will encourage you to plead out as quickly as possible; even if it means jail time. He asks for positive ratings on social media and does all he can to keep up his win percentage which he obviously pats by taking on easier clients. I would NOT recommend as there are many many other lawyers that will provide far better representation with lesser fees.

Joe Nueberger is a sissy boy defense lawyer. He is better off as a crown lawyer. I listen to his analysis on 640 radio all the time and I conclude, he is a sissy boy defense lawyer bettet off as a crown lawyer. He does not accept legal aid although all law firms are supposed to do 3% of their gross, pro bono as an industry unwritten rule. He does not do this either. Full of Hubris and always avoiding the difficult cases and taking on easier cases charging much more than they are worth. Hire someone else. My opinion for interest and educational purpose. Do your own research. Make up your own mind. Thank you.

Joseph is a born lawyer.
2 years ago, I was charged about sexual assault and sexual interference by police, I was so upset. I hired Joseph Neuberger as my lawyer after I talked with some other criminal lawyers. I did the right choice, on the court, the complainant’s testimony became vague and unclear because Joseph did a perfectly cross-examination, finally I win the case without even given a testimony.
I think back after I win my trial, even my mother language is Chinese, but I didn’t feel any barriers when I communicate with Joseph, not only because he has two assistances who can speak Chinese, he can read people and know what I need quickly. he also dealt with the details of my case so smart, that’s why I win the case. I was lucky to hire him be my lawyer, he saved me. we are very good friends right now.

His rate might a bit more than average, but he gets all necessary resources on his platform, it helps taking all your pressure and anxiety off your shoulder. Joseph is a lawyer that see you as a human being and not as a number. That is my impression from the that I became his client. My husband was framed and charged with serious sexual assault before our marriage. He has a bright future ahead of him owning several shops in Toronto and he would have lost everything if he was convicted. Having never write a review on anything in the past, I feel compelled to comment on my experience with this firm. While I can't comment on the quality of work they perform I do want to comment on their professionalism in dealing with potential clients. Long story short ( to keep withing the 1000 character limit), several calls to them, all promised call backs, no call backs received. Once I did finally get them on the phone after a week of this they were rude in handling my questions regarding my previous week of waiting for call backs. After mentioning their $4500 cost (in a tone that sounded like they were trying to discourage me)I said I was fine with the retainer but a little concerned over the time they have to devote to my case in light of my experience trying to get them on the phone. I was very polite and professional she was neither. There are plenty of firms that treat potential clients with respect. I wouldn't expect any professional services firm to talk to me that way.
