Pretend lawyer. Not suitable. Promised the world but only cares about his fees. Distracted throughout proceedings. Not prepared at trial. Presented badly. Outclassed from the start. Does not care about his clients. Wish that I had read this review board sooner. Lots of similar bad experiences.

Jody Howard Berkes, Berkes Law, Berkes Newton-Smith, likes to present himself as a tenacious and knowledgeable criminal lawyer with deep experience, but unfortunately this could not be further from the truth. Instead he takes advantage of the vulnerable when navigating the serious and unknown. Given the opportunity to expedite a serious matter Mr. Berkes chose to take advantage of his situation, and prolong my trial proceedings to increase his billings, causing unnecessary hardship and pain for me. Mr. Berkes was consistently unprepared, needed reminding of the case facts and timeline, and was uneducated on matters that should be second nature to him as a criminal lawyer. It is obviously that Mr. Berkes did not put in the work necessary to defend me, did not complete simple research to be knowledgeable on matters pertinent to the proceedings, and lacks the professionalism expected of a qualified lawyer. Mr. Berkes is unknowledgeable, ill tempered, and deceitful.

I DO RECOMMENED Jody Berkes as the best Criminal defence lawyer in town. Not only are you able to reach him via business number or email but he has a 24hr line that allows you to contact him at any time of the day any day. Jody contacted me within minutes of receiving a message reuqiring his help immediately at 6:30am on a Sunday morning. Not only did he answer my call but he assured me that its in his hands now and I need not worry any longer.
