Hugh Scher is good at what he does but in legal proceedings there is often only one winner. Those not ready to accept the outcome better not enter a fight. Some of the above comments do not reflect the Hugh Scher I know.

After my accident I was referred to a different lawyer who really was not working to help me. The communication was bad and no results were produced.

As crooked as they get. Hugh overcharges and double charges his clients. Always assess your accounts when you deal with him as he doesn't do anything on your files until the last minute or until you threaten to go elsewhere. He lies a lot and is very gossipy and unprofessional. Never in my life have I seen someone so shady in the legal profession.

Our experience was similar to the earlier client who got swindled by Hugh Scher. He acted as though he was doing us a favor by charging us $600 per hour. He kept charging us monies, falsely told us that he will give us a straightforward Retainer Agreement to sign. After we trusted him and he started charging us money, he gave us an Unfair document to sign and started threatening to drop us as clients midway, and leave us hanging without a lawyer. He evidenced himself as a Bully. We were never provided straightforward answers. His sole goal was to charge us as much money as he could. When we asked reasonable questions, he gave us no answers, but retaliated with: "Go find another lawyer, if you do not trust me" etc. His work quaslity was poor. He was temperamental and did not return our calls or emails in a timely manner either. We found him unprofessional and rude. Our money was wasted. We lost time. We achieved nothing with him. We were scammed.

Retained this lawyer on contingency, for a wrongful dismissal suit. He did the work to attempt to negotiate a settlement which was denied. Following that, he did not keep any scheduled meetings with me. Did not return my phone calls, did not communicate at all. I waited months to hear back from him and when I finally heard back, it was in the form of him serving me documents telling me he was SUING me for fees he was never supposed to receive. He broke his own retainer and is full of lies. Would never recommend him to anyone.

Hugh is very knowledgable in all areas.
Hugh was always available and the communication between us was excellent.
My case involved the a lot of the emotion for me, and Hugh acted as a very good backstop to keep me shielded from the very intense proceedings.
Hugh has very good negotiating skills. But yet not afraid to litigate.
