This lawyer is unprofessional! He is highly ill-organized, forgets to file documents and collect documents necessary for the case, talks over and rushes the judge, passive and unassertive, little advocacy for client, doesn’t attend to client when client is clearly upset and crying inconsolably, doesn’t ask judge for break but just focuses on himself to take notes but not really use them, takes on a case that’s not his area of practice (he’s a family lawyer, not immigration!!!), tells the observers to do tasks for him, unconfident and stutters when fighting for the case, poor representation for the client making them look bad, doesn’t recognize the same judge on the second day of hearing. His lawyering abilities don’t impress or convince his competence.

This lawyer is not one which should continue practicing law of any kind. This lawyer will work against you instead of for you. I was abused by him in court, along with judge Allen and this lawyer. He is not to be trusted, be sure of this.

Leo comes across as a "nice guy" and who knows, in his private life he probably is.BUT, that is not the point in a family law case.I had had previous dealings with a really good Legal Aid Lawyer, so had some idea of how things should work.Leo is highly disorganized, he would wait until I arrived at the office to begin typing up documents, then take all of our time composing them,often with mistakes. He started out as if he would be aggressive with the other side, which I didn't really want (I am more collaborative) but once we went to case conference, he hardly spoke, let other lawyer make untruthful and rude comments unchecked. He failed to follow up on some documents being filed by other side which set us way back.I felt as if he didn't feel that I really deserved the 3 years of back child support in spite of evidence to the contrary.Seemed in awe of opposing lawyer. I had to switch lawyers. 100% would NOT recommend Aniceto.

This man represented me last fall at trial for custody. He threw me right under the bus. When I went to trial he told me to take my ex's offer and when I refused he got angry and said it again TAKE THEIR OFFER in an angry voice. I said no as they were trying to take away all my parental rights for poor reasons. I reminded Leo that even though he is Legal Aide...he still worked for me. He disappeared and did not tell me where he went.Ten minutes later he reappeared and said he and the other side's lawyer went into the Judge's Chambers of Judge Aquila.Leo told me if I did not take my son's father's offer, the judge was going to commit me to a psych ward. I have never been diagnosed with any mental illness in my life. I was told Leo could of stood up to the judge and protested the judge's treatment of me but he DIDN'T. Before we even got to trial Leo was telling me I was going to loose. He gave up on my case and left my life an ABSOLUTE TRAIN WRECK.I lost custody of my son,He is awful RUN

this lawyer has worked opposite to his clients. He'd rather work with the offender then get anyone proper protection at any means.I also had him as a lawyer. he gave my husband all my personal property which was stolen from me. do not have him as your lawyer you'll be very,very disapointed as he leaves him clients with nothing.

Left with more questions than answers, was completely lost in regards to my separation, clueless didn't listen to my concerns. I am now with a better lawyer and she pointed me in the right direction and picked up the pieces of the mess Leo made. Was rude regarding my asthma and anxiety saying I can't deal with your anxiety/asthma

This attorney was horrible on our case to create an order that worked for both parents, he wanted to target the father for his money, not what we wanted. He also didn't fight for my wifes rights as a parent, really let us down. Now we need to go back to court on our own to try to vary the order that he signed off on without even showing us. LegalAid wont help because this has already been handled in their eyes.

I have to say that I was extremely disappointed in this lawyer.He was friendly but every time I voiced my concerns regarding the saparation agreement and its effect on myself and the children,he either said 'well,let's just see how it goes and we'll change it later if you need to.' (I later found out that you can't just 'change' things in an agreement after you sign it.) Or he would say, 'that PROBABLY won't work,you'll be risking a judge saying no to that.' If it wasn't outright cut and dry,he didn't want any part in it.In divorce court,the judge turned the agreement away and outright refused to sign the divorce cert. Due to how detrimental it was for the care of the children.I have now been forced to reapply w/Legal Aid and now have a better lawyer but a LONG fight because this wasn't handled correctly in the first place.
