He was a guardian ad litem for my son years ago. He went against my son Dr request based on his opinion as he neglected to protect an innocent child, due to his opinion of me. He whined over a bad review I wrote to my attorney yet he would not even respond to a letter a seven year wrote asking for help. Not very professional in my opinion nor the best interest of a child to be an advocate.

Beware do NOT give him your money read all the complaints, look up on mo case net. Then decide if you want to trust with your case. We made the mistake.

Did not return my calls or emails. When I informed him I no longer needed his services, he advised me he would refund the unused portion of my money. That was over 3 months ago, and I have not received any communication from him. I never thought a representative of our court system would treat a client so badly. I am a grandmother and was just trying to get guardianship of my grandchild, so I could get her on my health insurance. Biggest regret of my life.

We filed a motion to modify dealing with the custody of a minor child. IT was a stressful situation to begin with. Scott Hinote made it into a terrible situation. He has continuously lied about what he has done within the case. I encourage anyone that has had difficulty reaching scott and getting a refund for what little/nothing he has done for your case to contact the missouri bar. YOU can file a formal complaint by following the instructions at this link http://www.mochiefcounsel.org/ocdc.ht.... Help save someone else from making the mistake of having this man "represent" them.

We paid him $1500 up front for a Paternity case that he took months to get NOTHING done. He NEVER returned phone calls, emails etc. Finally, I was so frustrated after months of not knowing what was going on with my case and him saying, "it takes time for these case, let me do my job" I called the courts myself. I found out that he told the judge that I retained new council and was no longer my attorney. I was devastated!!! This was NEVER discussed. He not only promised something that could not get done, but he removed himself from the case and then stated that I didnt follow his orders. This is very untrue! After all of this occurred I tried to contact him again, no reponse for over a month. Then when he does respond and I ask him what I can do? He states that I can retain him again for a substantial fee plus another publication fee. Never the less, NOTHING was taken care of, I was out everything that I had already paid him and no judgement. I find this very upsetting and unethical....

I paid scott upfront $3,200 cash for a custody case of mine. He told me it could take awhile with most custody cases and to be patient and let him do his job. When he finally did send me the paperwork to sign it had the wrong kids name on it. I left several messages on his voicemail because he never answered any of my calls. I was finally able to reach him through email but by then he told me he was no longer my lawyer and my case was thrown out. Now im raising my son alone with no help from him. I've had to go through the state because after he took my money i couldn't afford to hire another lawyer and to be honest after him I'll never in my life trust another lawyer. He has now suggested that I contact another lawyer hes friends with because he no longer handles family cases... Which is odd.. Thats explains why mine never got handled. And there is no refund either because hes a lawyer and he'll just drag this out in court until im out more money.

Paid $2000 for a parenting plan modification. Cannot get ahold of him. Will not return emails. Will not answer questions. Nothing is done. Been paid in full for MONTHS!!! Looks like the MO supreme court is after him on Casenet.

Paid $1,400 for custody and parenting plan filing and nothing was done. Now out $1,400 and finding a new attorney. Email is no longer valid and mailbox is full to leave a message and secretary never answers.

Vital information was presented to him for my case, and it was never presented in court. He didn't follow through with anything he promised to do or say for me in court. A 10 year old could have taken his place, and would have accomplished more for me. He's a nice guy, but in the wrong profession.

This lawyer should be charging double what he does. He is that good. Best lawyer in the area. He will take care of you as you are more than money to him.
