Alison Pengelley was very professional to work with. Her recommendations and approach were effective to quickly achieve a fair outcome while mindful of minimizing legal fees. Her guidance and knowledge helped expedite the process while anticipating multiple scenarios. Alison was very responsive, and her drafting of legal documentation was airtight and thorough.

Alison is a tenacious lawyer who works diligently for her clients. I am not surprised that there are negative comments here. There are two sides to every case and the other side of her would not be happy having to go up against her!

Ms Pengelley was opposing council in a family law matter for which I was self rep. I have faced AP for 11 motions, 2 case conferences, 3 long motions and a contempt motion… (fun) what I can say is that if your going to face Pengelley in court, you better bring your A game. She is ruthless and will fight hard for her clients. She has a robust knowledge of law and knows how to apply it. She does push a lot of paper which can be Frustrating because of increased billing, but this is a part of her strategy, she floods other parties with submissions which can be effective, morse so when cross council has not prepared. This lawyer nearly ruined my life, but that was her job, she fought hard for her client. Im am grateful I had the experience to meet Ms Pengelley, my experience opposing her in court motivated me to pursue my Law degree. Now I am set to graduate in 2022, plan to be called to bar in 2023, and hope I have the opportunity to be opposing counsel again and thank Ms Pengelley.

I was referred to Alison Pengelley by a friend and choosing Alison as my family lawyer was the absolute best decision I could have made. Represented by Alison Pengelley, her professionalism and level of knowledge far surpassed all expectations. Alison was completely organized and always worked efficiently in the task of gathering the information needed to get the results we set out to achieve. Alison laid out the plan from the beginning, keeping me involved and informed every step of the way. Alison's hard work succeeded in concluding our case in a quick manner with a most favourable outcome for myself and my children. I am beyond grateful to Alison, as it brought the closure needed so we could finally move forward.

Alison Pengelley acted for me on my family court matter, and I highly recommend Alison to anybody going through a separation who wants a strong lawyer who also cares. At the first court appearance Alison was well prepared and negotiated a good interim agreement which ultimately saved me much in legal fees. Once we finished exchanging disclosure we moved forward quickly to a mediated settlement meeting and by the end of that day my whole matrimonial matter was settled on a final basis. Going through a separation is a tough process, but Alison made sure that I was surrounded with a support team to help me through the process and would even check in with me by telephone periodically as a courtesy. I am most grateful to Alison for helping me to get through a very difficult period in my life, and to move forward positively.

Choosing someone to act on my behalf involved asking organizations and individuals to suggest who they would go to if they needed help. One lawyer’s name was recommended repeatedly – Alison Pengelley. I arranged a first meeting with Alison and what developed from that first meeting was a sense of ease and calm. If at times I lost sight of my goals Alison would be there to gently nudge me back on course. Throughout our year long association Alison placed one thing above all else and that was my personal safety. Alison was able to remove emotion from situations and concentrate on what mattered, showing me how to negotiate a system filled with traps, pitfalls and indifference. Such a horrible confusing time in my life has now been put in the past and I have been able to move forward positively. Alison Pengelley as a lawyer did more than what was asked or required and represented me with respect, grace and compassion.

Alison Pengelley drew out my divorce proceedings for a year and a half. During this time I paid her over $130,000. By law my settlement should have been around $400,000. There were no children involved, so it should have been fairly straight forward. She wasted my time and my money by frivolous motions which also cost me dearly as she lost these motions. She was more interested in the amount of paper she could produce then getting me a decent settlement. I am now broke, as I had to use all my RRSP’s to pay her. Please don’t waste your time and money with this person!

Anyone stating that Alison Pengelley is anything other than a complete liar is being prompted to write their fiction. AP no longer works in the Barrie court system because she was pushed out by every law firm and reputable Judge. AP got her facts wrong continuously and insisted on attacking the judges statements and orders regardless. I along with many others witnessed her get silenced by angry judges after she wouldn’t accept the legal facts and letter of the law. Her tactic of simply getting under the skin of her opponent only delays things and becomes costly for everyone involved while lining her own pockets with her clients cash. Beware of this lawyer ! Do not hire this unprofessional witch of a person. I’ve never witnessed anyone walk into a professional room with ultimate hate and zero personality. This probably explains why she chose family law, a place for her to act out her aggressions and disrespect towards fathers whom love their children. Even my opposition fired her !

Hey, thought I’d share this view. I beat Alison Pengooly. What a hack. I’d ask for proof of successful cases from her clients. She always looses because she fights on emotions and not the facts. Alison makes up lies and her clients end up paying the bill. Ask how how many times she’s been fired by her clients under oath. Her twisted connections within the family assessment field are unbelievable. If you’re up against this lawyer, stand strong and do not use any of her certified assessment professionals because it will cost you. Alison Pengelley will most likely be disbarred in her future career as a family law lawyer in my opinion.

Alison Pengelley is uppermost in professionalism, understanding, tireless work and effort, and I feel so very blessed to have had and continue to have Alison on my side as my family lawyer. Alison Pengelley is in this for the money. Nothing else. She preys on people who feel they have a score to settle and uses this to string them along so she can cash in on every piece of documentation she touches. She tries to manipulate the law and convinces her clients that she can get them more, when all the while she is trying to get more OUT of their pockets. She uses the anger inside of a person going through a separation, and channels it for her own benefit. I would NOT recommend this lawyer, as regardless of how much anger there might be in a separation or divorce, the law is the law, and no amount of manipulating it to align with that anger will change the final result. She will only cost you money - and if there are kids involved, all that wasted money on Pengelley is taken away from those kids. Do your research before obtaining a lawyer. Thank goodness for this site!

Professionalism-1 Advise-1 Lying-5 A lawyer that looks to gain at any cost should not be involved in family law involving children. A complete disgrace of our legal system is up for hire. Please think of what is best for your family. Alison will only steal everything she can from you and your ex partner's lives moving forward. Don't be fooled. Brian Galbraith needs to recognise the family law morals and return to operating a professional law firm. Alison should not be in family law, perhaps criminal prosecution is more in her line of fire. What a wicked unprofessional lawyer. Stay Clear.

Afull Lawyer, charged excessivly and gave me bad legal advice the whole way through. She just wanted to drag my case on and on to charge more hours. Her arguenents were terible and based on ridiculous lies she came up with on the spot, also her staff have the worst editing skills ive ever seen. I truly regret ever hiring this lawyer.

Worked with this lawyer for some time after the previous lawyer went on matleave. She was just billing me excessively for reviewing my papers, she is good at that for sure. I feel like absolutely no value was added to my case. I have no income and I regret very much I lost lots of money and time, almost lost the case because got notice of approaching dismissal. 14 thousand dollars lost from my credit cards in a half a year, still have no custody of my children and have to start almost from scratch, and being in huge debt. I would never recommend this lawyer to anyone. I could have achieved more representing myself and would not be in debt if I have avoided Galbraith Family Law office in the first place. Hope many of you will read this and will not make the same mistake.
