My ex-wife and I separated in 2010 and my file was offically closed this week. It has been a long journey from start to finish and Nathalie and her firm helped me through the entire process of CFL with both legal and emotional support. My Child Support payments ended in 2018 and Spousal Support has commenced. The entire process was time consuming but I now feel the weight of same has been lifted from my shoulders. Through the sale of the house, pension division, etc., Nathalie was very thorough in guiding me through the process. I believe that the CFL process works and I have and will recommend Nathalie to friends and co-workers. Nahtalie was fair and compassionate and worked hard on my file to the achieve the best outcome possible. Thank you Nathalie.

Used Nathalie with my ex 12 months ago. Nathalie claims she is neutral between both parties, however that is far from the truth. She is very much a modern day feminist. I made the mistake of going with her as it cost approx $9k. Now 12 months later I need to engage a lawyer to spend another $15000 because Nathalie failed to include very basic things within the agreement that would keep things fair into the future. Stay away from Nathalie. Printer and software kept having problems and was charged for lost time too.....Nathalie milked the situation and took advantage of me.

Nathalie and her team have been very helpful and compassionate during this difficult process. I have read the negative reviews that others wrote and I disagree with them. She's not a cheater not a thief and it saddens me to see that others write such horrible and false remarks about her . At the beginning I did find that she charges for every e-mail communication but after addressing the issue with her, she explained the reasoning and then I noticed she only started charging for the relevant e-mails . I found their invoice was a little difficult to dissect and understand but she's always more than willing to explain and clarify . I also received a cheque for $650 that was remaining in the trust fund . This goes to show she's not a thief . I also love the resources they have displayed at the office, I found them very helpful. Over all, I would recommend her to anyone . In fact I've already referred a friend to her .

I went to Nathalie after experiencing a lengthy and expensive process with another lawyer/firm which had lasted over several years, and was still non-conclusive. Nathalie used my self-updated version of the separation agreement, as well as the original one, and she was able to get my separation finalized within months. I loved working with Nathalie, and was instantly comfortable with her. She is incredibly caring and more than fair when it comes to billing her time, and does not include chats "off the clock." She has done work for me without pay, and even checks to make sure that I am keeping well, as I have been recovering from illness. On top of my personal experience with Nathalie, I absolutely love the premise of the firm. It has many valuable resources for the couple/family/children, and is truly built and designed to help the process to be as efficient, fair, stress-free and cost-effective as possible. Very caring and knowledgeable.

Nathalie and her team were absolutely wonderful to work with! They were welcoming, professional, upfront, and very accommodating to our needs. The entire process was completed in 2 weeks time and they made many adjustments to meet our requirements.The team was supportive and showed no favoritism towards either side. Common sense always prevailed and emotions never came into play. Fees were clearly explained and justified. We both would highly recommend Natalie and her team to anyone going through a separation. It was a very positive experience that brought clarity, growth, and closure. A little bit of needed SUNSHINE!

ME Picard is a liar and a cheater - my process lasted 5 months before I ended up calling Upper Canada Justice to inquire on her bad and dishonest practices - she immediately informed me that she could not represent me anymore due to the fact that I had raised my situation with the Upper Canada office... end result, once I secured another lawyer, Me Picard refused to transfer my case file and proceeded to make accusations etc... her bills were all questioned and I never got resolution aside from my new lawyer bargaining with her to get a trash box of messy paper. Her CFL practices with a sister office in Embrown is more the questionable - long hours no emails to confirm negotiations or outcomes. She will generate email exchanges that will have no value in the end. She was dishonest, always talked about her own personal situation and suck you dry in the process. STAY AWAY from this unprofessional office.

She does not understand military pension splitting. I had to educate her. She has poor staff skills and she doesn't supervise her staff well. As a result meetings were cancelled without notice. Her charges for emails and correcting her mistakes where excessive. Not recommended.

Everything boils down to money with Me Picard. She wants your money. She claims she will save you a bundle if you commit to CFL. That's because the money you save goes straight to her purse. And you pay her to listen about her personal stories. Beware.

Nathalie Picard se montre très agressive au début pour gagner la confiance de ses clients potentiels. Elle s'avance pour dire ce qu'elle va faire pour faire évoluer ton dossier et une fois que le mandat est signé... plus rien. Elle laisse traîner les choses et fait semblant de travailler sur ton dossier quand on l'approche avec des questions. Elle (son bureau) facture tout sans exceptions et même en double si tu ne prends pas la peine de vérifier ses factures. Elle prend tes frustrations personnellement sans comprendre l'importance qu'on doit y mettre pour parvenir à une entente juste et équitable. Elle se contente d'encourager ses clients à accepter "d'acheter la paix" à n'importe quel prix et condition, juste pour mettre fin à ton dossier... une fois qu'elle a suffisamment engraissée sa caisse enregistreuse $$$. Je ne recommande pas ses services à personne.

A total waste of tiime, talks a great story but puts little effort into trying to get equitable justice. Sides with female side. Seems to make one feel hard done by but just pays lip service. Racks up financial debt by charging exorbitant prices for e-mails and other non essential correspondences . I do not recommend this law firm that can't spell divorce properly to look after anyone seeking a reasonable and quick separation, let alone divorce. Far too complicated and unfair. She comes across as a tiger but, lo & behold a toothless ****! Not a good choice, by a long shot. A total waste of time & valuable resources! I have spent a small fortune and still have not gotten a resolve after 16 months? If it were not for e-mails this office would be bankrupt! The more e-mails the richer we become should be their motto. Definitely stay clear, if you relish any finances that you have because they will surely disappear once these greedy snipes get you in their sights.

All I could see were dark days ahead until a co-worker recommended that I make an appointment with Nathalie Picard for a consultation. I had no idea what to expect when I stepped in the office. She made me feel at ease from the first minute. Everyone took the time to explain and answer all my questions and concerns. Her team has very strong morals and work ethics. This also reflects on how dedicated her staff is to the success of her centre. She is very well respected among her piers as I witnessed on the day we were at court in front of a judge. I would not hesitate to recommend her services.

Her explaination of the method used to calculate the net worth splitting between spouces confused me. The time of consultation charged to me was not efficiently used. The resolution of the matter took longer because of delays not clearly justified. The documents prepared were not accurately reflecting the position I was arguing. Modifications were requested and made at my own expense.I believe this Attorney provided a service that does not value the professional fees I was charged.

Nathalie Picard (Picard Law Firm in Ottawa) has very poor mediation skills which contributed to an unnecessary lengthy and costly mediation process which ultimately failed. Her limited knowledge combined with her poor communication and mediation skills were a direct factor in the failure of the whole mediation process. She is overwhelm by this process and seems to be only concerned about the money she gets in return. I strongly recommend you to stay away from this law firm unless you are ready to pay 4 to 5 times more than anywhere else for zero results. As an example she charges for e-mails she sends you to set appointments with her. Better she even charges for call made to you to call back. Of course she charges you when you call back. When ask to meet and discuss the exaggerated fees, she refuses to meet the client.

The positive side to Collaborative Family Law (CFL) is not letting a court tell you what will be the support and custody arrangements. This lawyer illustrates a negative side to CFL, that is, what you potentially save in court costs, you will likely hand over to her...well, just because...well, why the hell not?!Someone's got to pay for the lifestyle, so why not let it be you! Over exaggerated sense of her value. Keep a diary of every interaction and always check every item on her bill$.
