After dealing with a few family lawyers I finally found Ruso Law, who worked hard on my international custody case and won! They were patient with me and answered all my questions along the way.

Mr. Ruso has been my lawyer for the last two years, helping me with divorce proceedings and custody and access issues. He is always professional, courteous, and not overly litigious - he has consistently tried to resolve issues outside of court to minimize drawn out processes and unnecessary legal fees. Working with him has been my first experience with a lawyer, and it is clear that he cares about his clients and works hard to get them the absolute best outcome possible. After reading the criticisms below, I suggest you take them with a grain of salt - all lawyers require retainers and are only able to deliver “results” within the limits of the law. You can go into a lawyer with a long wish list of your expectations but your lawyer will always be bound by the law, whether you feel that is in your best interest or not. Mr. Ruso was upfront with this and has always managed my expectations by being honest about what we can and can not hope to achieve in court.

Tried this lawyer and he seems to want to generate conflict, delay in getting support which only makes his bills go higher and higher and then you lose on support anyways. Felt that he wanted to create problems, did not listen to what I needed.

Mr. V Ruso is an excellent lawyer that has helped my husband and I over the last 2 years with my husband's custody battle. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, understanding and really cares about his clients. He is worth every penny. My husband won his custody case when everyone said it will never happen and now has full custody of his daughter. Thank you

Vince has been my lawyer for 2 years and he has helped me get my daughter back. He is very compassionate and knowledgeable. He has always accomadated me and faught for my rights. I would recommend him to anyone. If you have been denied access to your kids, this is the lawyer to hire!

The only thing he asks is to provide him a retainer. Retained him for less than a year, lost $10.0000.00. Do your research when retaining a lawyer.

No Gumption in the courtroom. Never returns calls. Misses appointments. Brainless assistants. Not really sure how he continues to "practice" law. If you really want to lose your case, have your court record be a disaster, and waste your money, then this is the guy for you.

I have no idea why Vince has bad reviews. Vince was the most honest lawyer i've ever met. I had a losing case and everything vince told me what was going to happen, happened! My ex and her lawyer were ruthless and after I hired Vince, i got my son back! Vince was always nice with the other lawyer and I hated it, turns out, it worked in my favor. I would recommend Vince to anyone.

I had Mr. Ruso represent me for my family law matter. All I can say is this is the WORST mistake I ever made by allowing him to represent me in my matter. All he was good at doing was asking for retainers. I spent about $15,000 in a matter of a few months because he said he needed retainer after retainer to continue my matter or he wouldn't be attending my court appearances or filing the appropriate paperwork. He was very unprofessional and under prepared. He did absolutely nothing in court for me and didn't even argue on my behalf. He just let the other party go on and on and try to slander me in court. There were spelling mistakes in almost all of the papers that were sent out along with incorrect facts he or is assistants decided to throw into MY affidavits. He was always late to my appointments in his office as well as to court. He was almost an hour late to my first court date. We were referred to him from a family friend and didn't know any better.

Worst experience with a lawyer, Raped me financially and did nothing? brainless clerks, spelling mistakes, had phone meetings with other clients on my time, and his servers were unable to actually serve papers, hope he is enjoying my 5000$ as it was my life savings and was using to get my ex to pay child support, was too broke to go to trial with this guy and I'm still in the same hard place. I give up :(

I met Mr. Ruso to sign my separation agreement, he provided me with all the advice I needed, he signed my legal advice certificate and didn't charge me. He is truly a good man! He knew I was in a difficult financial position and still helped me! I am so greatful for Mr. Ruso.

Mr. Ruso does not care about family law, his clients, or getting to resolution in divorce cases. Mr. Ruso took $15,000 from me, but did not do anything to get me spousal support and child support as he stated he would when I retained him. He then told me if I would not accept $15000 from my ex, after 11 years of marriage, that he could not represent me anymore. Mr. Ruso was literally talking about soccer during my case conference. He was not prepared, he missed a deadline to confirm my motion date and it was delayed for 3 months. He never communicated what he was discussing with the opposing counsel until months later. Mr. Ruso even went as far as lying and telling opposing counsel that I agree to accept an offer when I clearly stated that the offer was not acceptable. He charged me for preparing briefs and other documents that the opposing counsel claims they never received. His solution to me was to sign an offer that was not in for any offer and he stated that "I should find a man".

Experience similar to the last post, he missed appointments, missed court deadlines and was very hard to get a hold of. He did up my agreement with my ex and didn't ask for my input. Was he working for me or the ex?

I severely question the above reviews. My experience was horrible. Incorrect and misleading advice - confirmed after consulting with two other lawyers, numerous major mistakes on pleadings which misled the court and resulted in an order that likely would not have been made, constant turnaround with incompetent clerks who didnt observe service deadlines which almost penalized me in court, never called back at scheduled times or kept phone appointments, no ability to speak up in presence of judge. I had to do major damage control and realized I am getting further on my own. Good chunk of money wasted.

Vince has done quite a bit of work for our family over the past few years, and we will continue to utilize him. He is truly a unique lawyer: approachable, honest, forthright, reasonable and effective. In our experience, it is rare to find such a young lawyer that possesses so many excellent qualities. He takes a genuine personal interest in his client's matters, and is always sensitive to specific needs or limitations. We highly recommend him for family or criminal litigation matters.
