Avoid at all cost! Goes by the name RealEstateLawyers.ca as well, which should of been a clue for me since they obviously pick this name to have someone google real estate lawyer and have this come up. They quote one price but there's more fees behind it, if you use a normal reputable lawyer who actually quotes the full amounts, then you're way better off! Our friends bought our house and due to my lawyer not sending proper documents in time (last minute) the deal had to be pushed a day and they threatened the other lawyer and made my friends pay an extension fee for their mistake! That was $500.00! They didn't ask me if that's what I wanted and every lawyer I've talked to thinks that's insane! So I got my $8 per diem and they made $500.00 extra for no reason... Use a small town lawyer if you can, once I did that with my purchase, it was way more personable, reliable and the lawyer was a very kind man! Here you talk to no lawyers just rude girls.

I have had the pleasure of working with Shayle & Team in the past with respect to a closing on a family estate home and our experience was fantastic. During the closing, the other Lawyer held back monies that he he shouldn't have and Shayle promptly addressed the matter. More recently, I am using Shayle for another transaction and once again my experience has been exceptional and I personally would recommend Shayle and Team to anyone looking for a quality service at reasonable prices. I have three words to describe this law firm: DISORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND RUDE. Working with this firm was a terrible experience. We were asked multiple times for documents related to the closing of two properties (sometimes 3 times for the same document). Staff was often unresponsive. After closing on the properties the law firm made a huge error and accidentally deposited a large sum of money into our bank account. Once contacted, we told the firm that we were out of the country for a week without a secure network connection to do a large money transfer, but we would transfer the money right away when we returned. They threatened us with legal action even though we agreed to pay it back as soon as possible! DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

Scammer! Was quoted $500 by the accountant. Ended up with a $6k bill (yes, 12 times the amount) for work that was an absolute piece of crap - and obtained with difficult communication. Run if you see this excuse for a human being.

Mobile service was fantastic! Signed my documentation on the weekend at my home and they put money right into my account. Closed my sale without ever having to go to the office. Would strongly recommend! Great service and great prices.

Best real estate lawyer ever, they literally came to my house at night so I didn't have to miss work and best of all, at no extra charge. They also let me customize my transaction, I signed my documents at home in the evening in Mississauga, but was able to actually pick up the keys at their downtown Toronto office for maximum convenience. The negative reviews below do not at all reflect my experience. Shayle was very receptive, every time I emailed him, which I confess I did frequently, he got back to me every time with exactly what to do. I think Real Estate Lawyers.ca LLP is the best real estate law firm in Ontario, they are the third I have used in my life and by far and away the best. No other law firm offers the additional value added services they do. I didn't have to miss any work or waste any vacation days and they operate all over Ontario.

Terrible experience and service. Would ask questions about process and would not get an answer. Errors in the contract. Set up mobile meeting to sign documents and then never showed up or apologized.

I have dealt with a few lawyers in the past. This is by far the most disorganized firm I have come across and my previous lawyer used to keep his files in a pile on his desk. First off, I was told that they served Burlington but the office is in Vaughn and I had to drive out there to give them papers that they requested last minute (this happened several times, but I only had to drive out there once, the others I was able to fax). This place was super disorganized. I would call them and ask specifically if they had what they need and they would say "Yes". Then a few days later someone else from the firm would call me saying they need a form filled out asap. This even happened at our closing delaying it a day. Every time you call them they barely know who you are or what is going on. Avoid this firm at all costs.

His office botched ABSOLUTELY every step of the process for us and considering selling and buying a home is the largest transaction most people do, this is incredibly alarming.

This has the be the WORST experience I have ever had dealing with an attorney. He does not know how to conduct business in a professional manner at all. He purposely went beyond the mortgage broker and straight to the bank and lied to them so we wouldn't be able to re-mortgage our house. It's been more then 2 months that he dragged this on for, only to get nowhere. Everyone including him should know that you can't do that. His assistant is just as bad. I would strongly recommend everyone to beware and steer clear of this law office and attorney for your own good.

(2012)"After sending information to Shayle have not received acknowledgement or further communication. The firm lost information that I forwarded. I have attempted to follow up with multiple clerks (Azzi & Sharan) at the office who promise to respond but never do. Very unorganized office, no proper database or system for keeping track of information. Would not recommend this firm at all." We experienced the same issues with this firm with the exception that we used my work's EAP program instead! Please tell me your personal information was not compromised? I am very concerned. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.

I was selling my home and was recommended by a friend to use Shayle Rothman. I dealt with a senior clerk named Ashton. She was very pleasant and professional. She assured everything went smoothly and I will definately recommend her services. All emails and calls were answered or returned promptly. It was a seamless process.

I was buying my first house and was in a real panic mode because the sellers wanted to close earlier than we expected so we had to scramble to find a lawyer. I didn't have much contact with Shayle after the first call. I dealt with Elizabeth mostly. I felt like things weren't explained very well. They made 3 errors in the trust ledger statement that luckily I caught. We were given the WRONG key to the house. And when we told them that, they assured us it was the right one. But we went back to get another key, and they gave us two (the right pair). We told Elizabeth the sellers left 20 garbage bags and asked if she can tell them to remove it because it was in the contract that the property would be clean and tidy before we took possession. I had to ask several times before she responded and she said she will contact them but I'm sure she didn't. They don't care about you as a client, they just want to get the job done quick to get their money. I won't use them ever again.

I just bought and sold a home and had an excellent experience. The firm was very organized and I was able to sign documents downtown and pick up my keys in Mississauga. Would not hesitate recommending this firm.
