I had a simple divorce, nothing to fight over.Mr.Giries listed my name incorrectly 2 different ways & spelled wrong on my divorce papers. I would think my name should be correct on a legal document, he told me several times "it's fine, just sign it". I refused no matter how badly I wanted this divorce to be over, I felt my name should be correct and spelled correctly. I did not want it to be 10 years later and find out my divorce was not valid because my name was listed wrong. He finally got my name right after I sent multiple emails showing him my legal name,I had to send him a copy of my DL before he got it right. I signed. A few weeks go by and I get a copy in the mail and he swapped out a page. It originally had an order to change my name back to my maiden name but he said since I wanted my name correctly listed on my divorce he had to remove that. Not very competent if you can't get something as simple as my name right then get sneaky and switch the documents. UNETHICAL

I hired James for my divorce, he required a 7500 dollar retainer, which I did pay thinking I was hiring a great attorney. I filed in January and in The beginning of March James had done three things, he petitioned for my divorce, wrote letter to husbands attorney requesting finacial support and we got as far as completimy inventory. In the beginning of March I went into his office to sign completed inventory, which still has some thing that needed to be corrected. By this time in March if I had to round off, I would say I spent a total of 6 hours at most about my case. When in doing so he mentioned that we were almost done using 7500 retainer, and that he would need more money. I explained I had told him I had to borrow the 7500, from my faster and didn't have that I would pay him from my settlement. He said he had to run a business. It's been three weeks, I've left countless messages on his cell, office phone, set emails and text messages and gone by his office times and No James!

Very bad experience. Caught him in a few lies, including lying to the judge about being sick in order to postpone court because he hadn't spent any time on the case. Failed to tell us, so we had made sitter arrangements for the day. Made up stuff in front of the judge that wasn't true, costing us $3K in medical bills because the judge didn't understand the whole story and ruled for the father (all we asked for was half of the medical bills - supposed to be standard). Does not return phone calls - spent 7 weeks trying to reach him. Then his assistant says he was out for surgery, but went to the office and saw him leaving. Did not fight at all for us - gave in to the other side. Did not understand the case - spent no time trying to. Spent months on what should have been easy, but he didn't put any time or effort into understanding or fighting for what was right. Would never recommend this lawyer.
