This lawyer does nothing to help you. Felt like the whole time I was with him he was just assisting my ex's lawyer in the delay process. He overbilled me, never, ever! returned calls and I am stuck in the same position I was had I never hired him (except with a $100k bill).DO NOT EVERY USE THIS LAW FIRM!

So Mr. Merrifield "was" my lawyer and please ----don't allow the grandfather charm fool you. It was very unfortunate that this lawyer choose to cut me off when I needed him the most because I disputed his constant billing of reviewing my file. I was left having to defending myself and the last I heard from Mr. Merrifield was to agree that he drop me as his client. How appropriate at such a critical time. What a shame this is to a victim of not only circumstance; but, also a victim of the justice system. I must add that I didn't find Mr. Merrifield helpful and better yet I made mention at the very beginning I wanted representation not to put his grandkids through University! I believe I helped his bank account and he dropped me when I needed representation the most. Same on him and the legal system for middle/low income families in desperate need for help. Shame you him. I would never recommend this man.

Scott agreed to a set hourly rate when looking closer to the docketed charges he was charging $100 extra an hour for nearly a year. I was double billed for visits and to his excuse it was an accounting error. What if I hadn't caught the error or that of other clients and constantly padded hrs for reviewing my file. He was helpful with the retainer, after that I barely heard from him yet was charged for services. I would never recommend this lawyer ever to a client. He takes advantage of you and then recommends you to find another attorney. He was very disappointing at a time when I needed representation. He abandoned me as his client after tens of thousands of dollars. He is there to get his quota for the firm without the due diligence of having the client's best interest at heart.
