This GAL is so bias and prejudice I can't believe she is allowed to practice and claim she knows what is best for a child. She takes favor over one parent based on her opinion and not what is best for the child. She tells lies she can not back up. Very unprofessional gave info out to people she had no right and even gave them the name and # of a lawyer to call. The children were asked questions by her in ways that children should not be asked. If she thinks she is really looking out for the best interest of the child maybe she should take a class in child care and true love. She should really be disbared!

I can NOT say one good thing about Lori. She made us agree to a court order, then completely go against what she recommended and what was agreed upon. I have never seen someone so unprofessional and so unethical in my entire being. Lori made one home visit then refused to speak to me when i had my children full time, only spoke with the mother who was on drugs, homeless, amongst other things. Refused to acknowledge the things I came to her and voiced my concern over my children. When I reached out, never heard back until the day before court. She had said and done things that were just unprofessional. She did one home visit the first week we got her assigned to my case. GAL's should not side with one parent, and that is exactly what Lori does, she does not have the best interest of the children and that has been proven time and time again with my case. If i could write everything about the things shes done, I would. Lori has lied and manipulated my entire case.

I would highly recommend Lori Battistoni as an excellent choice to represent any of my family or friends should her services be needed. Lori was extremely professional, courteous, prompt and responsive. She was clearly developing a legal strategy during our initial conversation. Lori doesn't sugarcoat the steps you will need to take but she will give you advice and will fight for the best interests of your case and if custody is involved for the best interests of your child.
Believe me you want Lori in your corner and your child's corner. Lori's billing practices are fair, she keeps you informed, give sound legal advice and moreover follows through with RESULTS.
The results I got from other lawyers prior to Lori were thousands in billable hours but no improvement for my child's well being. Lori resolved a years long complicated custody issue for myself and my child and has improved our lives greatly!

Ms. Lori Battistoni It’s very wonderful to work with since day one she has stood by my side during a very ugly custody battle. With Ms. Lori’s knowledge and charisma, she has made me feel safe inside that I was making the right decision. Every time I called /emailed her she was right there to answer all my questions. Lori Battistoni was wonderful to work with during a very nasty custody battle. Her knowledge and expertise were invaluable throughout the process. Her sole purpose was my daughter and what was right for her. She was honest and upfront at all times and kept us informed. As G.A.L., Lori was phenomenal. She told me that she had special privileges of communication with judge DePollo before the trial and she did just that. By the time she was done, the judge was so mad at the father of the children, that DePollo never let the father talk. After my testimony, DePollo began reading off the new order that he had already prepared. We totally rocked the father and he didn't even see it coming. I have spent several years filing lawsuits to get my children back and Lori was in my corner and helped me to get what I rightfully deserve as a mother to the children. You were amazing Lori! Thank you for working with me to get the children back that the father stole through corrupt judges.

I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Lori during a very sensitive case. She is a kind and diligent attorney, who truly cares about those she represents. This is an attorney who dedicates her life to helping the children that she is court appointed to represent. She is certainly not in this for the money. She carefully weighs what is in the best interest of the child and in my experience does a thorough and thoughtful investigation of the circumstances. Any child who ends up with a court appointed guradian ad litem is clearly in need of a strong advocate and that is what you get with her. There is no doubt about this.

As all the other reviewers have said, she is the absolute worst guardian ad litem in the world. She will always side with the non-custodial party, regardless of abuse or neglect, in order to perpetuate more court cases, i.e. revenue for Prince William County. She must be investigated ASAP.

Very strong lawyer and advocate for her wards. She researches the issues thoroughly and seeks the to find the answer that is the best interests of the child. The judges respect her and seek her counsel in tough cases. Reading her reviews, I suspect that the negative ones were written by parents who are angry because of the outcome of their cases. I have seen her weigh the issues carefully and dive in with real detail thinking very hard about what helps the children.

Ms. Battistoni is all for whoever has the "deeper" pockets, aka finances. This lady (who was the GAL for my custody case) did absolutely no investigation as far as what was best for my child. She did a home visit two days before the final court hearing in my custody case. She removed my son from my home based on absolutely nothing but heresay from my son's father. Prior to the final custody agreement, she met with my son's father twice and had numerous phone contact with him. I contacted Ms. Battistoni via email, phone and text on 12 different occasions and she sent one response at 6pm on a Monday evening stating "I am in meetings all day". That was it. She will ruin your life if your child is being represented by her in a GAL case. I am filing complaints with the VA state bar association and the PWC bar association and I will be advising multiple social media outlets as to her incompetency. I highly recommend that you steer clear from this woman if possible.

This woman is biased, easily manipulated,unfair,a liar, and ought to be disbarred! She recommended that the abusive (wife-beating) father get full legal custody of the girls instead of the loving, nurturing exceptional mother, who the girls wanted to live with. This is an atrocity and the girls are devastated and heart-broken. She has managed to ruin 2 more precious little lives... & their mother's. Lori has got to be THE WORST guardian ad litum in Prince William County, if not in all of Virginia.I'd give her a minus 10 rating if I could.

This woman is supposed to be fighting for the best interest of the children. Instead, she just granted full custody to the father who has three domestic violence charges on record and has been diagnosed with psychosis. Two girls have been taken away from their mother who has raised them almost entirely since they were born. She failed to complete a background check on the father, failed to research and read police report of multiple cases of harassment and abuse towards the mother. She failed to interview teachers and family members. She granted custody to a father who has abondoned his children several times. I believe this woman should be disbarred. She was either manipulated or paid off and has ruined the lives of our entire family.

She claimed my children were morbidly obese which was proven otherwise by medical professionals she also claimed that alienation was involved from the grandparents not me!I got hit hard being a single mother working to jobs so I provided for my kids while my only paid 2 months in child support my kids were taken from me wrongfully by this woman and by the way I tried to get a new venue appointed since Prince William isn't where me or their father lived and I was denied.I want my kids back home with me this isn't right and isn't fair! she needs to get evaluated she isn't fit at all to be a guardian as she never communicated with me after multiple attempts she gave me wrong information of a psychologist who was closed indefinitely she talked to my ex way more met with the school 1 time and went out of state to visit my kids.no witnesses were able to testify in my case by judge depolo under him wanting to go

Honestly I don't think she knew what she was doing. She does have a bias race and will play to their advantages instead of the other party. I've witnessed the lies she's told about my sister and some about myself in front of the judge. How can this woman call herself a layer and a mom of her purpose is to ruin the child's life ultimately.

Very horrible job. Did not visit my home. Visit the kids in school once and for great report from teachers, counselors and kids.i met with her for 30 minutes Saturday before court. Had no police reports of documents I asked to request as part my evidence. Agreed that she needed more tiin case. After speaking to the kids father and buying into his lies she based her decisions on the fact that my fiance called her out on her prejudices. She did not base her decision on my abilities as a parent but on her personal opinion of my fiance last. Since the change my kids are going thru depression, lack of sleep, being bounced around to different babysitters, experiencing bullying in school, gotten in trouble for stealing and fighting. No doctors visit, terrible hygiene etc. The worst part is my unanswered calls and lack of visits. I am unable to see my kids even thou I'm entitled to visitation. This excerpt is from an email I sent to her when I lodged a complaint to the state bar against her.
"The fact is you were appointed to a job which to all involved on that saw the actions or should I say utter lack of action believe you have failed wholeheartedly to do for the child. We think your recommendation is biased and preposterous and I tend to agree. I had maybe 2 brief calls with you and a one-hour meeting in your office and yet you don’t acknowledge any your lack of investigation on my side in your report. This screams lack of due diligence. I will be following up with Mr. Warner and will be seeing if I can take any other legal actions based upon your behavior and egregious misconduct as well as speculation about my mental health from said 1 hour meeting and not any of my actual health care providers which are not only presumptuous but unethical that of the child provider which is equally inappropriate."

This woman should never be allowed to determine where a child should be placed. She visited one time, however, visited the other parent at least 6 times. She was observed being unprofessional with the other parent and was overheard assuring them that they would get the child because she was the determining factor in these decisions for the judge. Very unprofessional, uses foul language, dresses very inappropriate for her age (as she tries to appear younger than she is). Does not represent what the child wants and maintains a relationship with other party.

In my opinion this lady did not take the time to check this thoroughly one visit does not say that everything she found was true I have lived with this with my family for a number of years both my daughter and my granddaughter with the children in my house and she never ever asked me one question about what was going on I think that any time that you are working with children and someone's life you need to take a little more than one visit to decide stop and think if it was your family she told my granddaughter she would be out she did not follow up on this at all it was a one visit thing and only talk to a very few people I would not advise you to have her interact with your children to be a federal investigation this is my opinion.

Very poor work ethics. She was always in a hurry and never followed on references that went contrary to her predisposed judgement of the case. Always apologizing for being late and having to hurriedly cut short her visit. She favored the person who paid her rather than working in the interest of the minor children. In the end, her decision was never based on the facts. Don't believe the "friendly", "nice" attitude. Wicked to the core! This woman ruins lives. How you recommend judgement on the basis of a 9 year old child who doesn't even know what they want? In the end, you get stuck with paying part of her bill as well. Talking about paying for what you did not get. Very unfortunate representation of justice.

An incredible Advocate for children; most likely the poor review was written by a poor parent (happens quite frequently). Her ability to investigate a case and listen to all those involved while continually focusing on the children has earned her the esteemed honor of several awards including Guardian ad Litem of the Year. Having worked with her professionally for many years, Ms. Battistoni devotes an extraordinary amount of time to those she represents; she is one of only a few who will submit a written report, visit children in school, parent homes, foster homes, residential placement centers, juvenile detention, emergency shelters, hospitals, doctor's appointments and court hearings. She serves children in divorce case and child protection cases in both juvenile and circuit court. She is respected by those in her field and her recommendations are given based on an impartial investigation. Unfortunately, one side doesn't win.
