Jeannie Leahy, as a corporate Senior Counsel, sent me a threatening letter that claimed I received taxable matching funds from Xetron Corp. In reality, the company kept all of their matching funds by laying me off nine months before I would have vested! Leahy's threatening letter stated: "all of your elective deferrals were vested at the time of your termination, and you received a rollover distribution of your vested account balance". That statement was totally false! She then wrote: "I also understand from Company records that you rolled this amount over into an IRA. You are now being asked to request your IRA trustee to distribute $4,457.06 to you from your IRA, in accordance with the IRS directive." These false claims were told to IRS and I was then dogged by IRS agents who believed the lies. Eventually, IRS was convinced they had been hoodwinked and I received a most appreciated apology letter from the Deputy Commissioner of IRS, Michael Dolan.
