Michelle has an excellent combination of empathy, knowledge, and tenacity. She is a content expert who genuinely fought for my personal goals and also the well-being of my children. I have and will continue to refer any friends and colleagues to Michelle that need expert help and guidance during a tough family transitions. She is understanding, considerate, and ‘sharp as a tack’ - one of the best.

I believe Ms DiToppa is knowledgeable enough but there really is no sense that she cares for her clients in anyway. Distracted, maybe overextended and simply, sadly, not invested enough in her clients. I had to point out some clear errors in her correspondence, i believe, because she had not reviewed her notes on our case. I was concerned that I was paying for time to review my file too often, and that I was waiting a fair bit of time in between correspondences. The latter, in turn, left me thinking that I would again be paying to review a file that was once again out of sight and out of mind. Efficiency, and therefore value, is lacking, particularly if your opponent relishes in gaslighting and sending curveballs in bad faith.

I can honestly say I fought MORE with Michelle than I did with my Ex during the divorce procedure!! I don't understand how someone can care so little for their career and still be practicing. Stay far away from this lawyer!!

Ms. DiToppa has been an excellent lawyer for me during a divorce proceeding that has not been easy. Her communication with me is very to the point which I appreciate while being understanding of the overall situation. She has a great deal of knowledge and has used that to get things done for me. She has been able to move things along in as timely a manner as the courts allow for and responds to my question thoroughly and within a time suitable to the need. Michelle is firm when she needs to be and gets things done. I have appreciated everything she has done for me thus far and would highly recommmend her to others.

I totally agree with the last review. Di Toppa is willing to write a perjurious affidavit and submit it to the court. That's how low she will stoop. She is capable of complete lies and deception to cover for the other partner of her firm. She is unconscionable. I have written proof of her dishonesty and deception. I would never trust a lawyer like this who is totally in it for her own selfish purposes and to contribute to the corruption of the family court system in Alberta.

Michelle helped me through a really difficult period of my life and I cannot thank her enough. From the beginning we had great dialogue and she helped me understand what to expect. Of course there were some things that happened that I wasn't expecting, but it was nothing she couldn't handle and manage through. Her diligence through the entire process was a life saver. If anything I could have been more diligent with certain things and there were times my lack of follow through made the process more painful. Her patience, understanding and empathy meant a lot as I went through the divorce and it helped me achieve an outcome I am happy with. She represented me very well and I am completely happy with the outcome, just upset it happened in the first place. Looking back over the entire process I realized how difficult this entire process is and appreciate all that she did for me.

I just used Michelle Ditoppa is my messy divorce. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, reliable and helped me through a very awful time. She was recommended to me by a friend and I would definitely pass along her information.

My experience with Michelle has been very frustrating and tiring. When we first met I provided her with important documents which were later lost. Consequently, I had to make additional copies. She is very unreliable when it came to returning phone calls, on many occasions she would not reply at all and on time sensitive issues she would respond too late. On other occasions she would have her assistant call 10 minutes prior to a phone meeting to cancel. Her ability to read and comprehend what she is reading makes me question how she ever passed law school. I had to re-write much of what she wrote and in many cases key elements were over looked or not included in the correspondence. Even when I informed her I would no longer required her services the withdrawal notice she sent me to sign had someone else's name on it. This confirmed I had made the right decision to let her go.

I recently just went through a painful divorce. I used Michelle Di Toppa for my lawyer. Without any question I would be VERY comfortable in referring her to anyone. She was respectful, knowledgeable, and advised me how to proceed and get the results I wanted. She was firm when she needed to be, and knew exactly what to do to get the results we wanted. Great job!

Became far apart from me as her client. Messages and inquiries were not responded to in an efficient manner. This led to errors in judgment. Legitimate instructions were not followed in affidavits and court appearance. She, like many family lawyers, is too busy and did not deal with things in a timely and effective manner. The response I got was that she has to work on "other files" on her plate. There are so many other fair-minded and time efficient family lawyers. Had I known this I wouldn't have used her services. It was a waste of my resources and time. I've since sought a well-organized and efficient lawyer - as rare as they are these days.
