Maxine, has been the most professional lawyer I have ever dealt with, especially when having to attend court with an opposing lawyer being a complete moron, attempting to aggravate and disrupt any forward movement for settlements. Maxine has always kept her composure, professionalism and able to bring issues back to reality. I have no reservations about recommending Maxine to any others that have/had to go through the ordeal which I experienced. Maxine was highly recommended to my father from some of his colleagues to take on my divorce proceedings. I found Maxine meticulous, very calm and assured and resourceful in her efforts. What I found most impressive was, that even though the opposition lawyer was aggressive and insensitive, Maxine did not resort to the same and kept bringing the focus back on the facts and details for both parties. Maxine Kerr was referred by prominent Toronto Matrimonial specialists. She is detailed, sophisticated, tenacious and incredibly well versed in Matrimonial Law while remaining assertive. Her guidance throughout the complicated documents and revised court dates was unprecedented. The opposition demanded three full days of depositions which Ms. Kerr also brilliantly supported throughout. The Litigation involved a senior internationally known tax specialist. Travel was extensive over many years requiring complete, perpetual and thorough revisions. Filing two separate financially inaccurate statements, by opposing council, required Ms. Kerr's astute and comprehensive knowledge. Her professional sophistication secured additional specialists. Always available, current, articulate and brilliant, Ms. Kerr is extremely insightful. Without hesitation I personally recommend her talents and vast capabilities.

Maxine Kerr represented me in a complex, protracted divorce procedure involving significant financial issues and business concerns. I chose her as my lawyer, on the recommendation of another lawyer, given her combined business (MBA) and law background and her well established reputation.
I found Maxine to be knowledgeable, thorough, honest and direct throughout the process. She recommended very capable colleagues in the forensic accounting area as needed. Although It was at times acrimonious and many attempts were made to distort the information, Maxine was always calm, well prepared, insistent on detail and accuracy, and focussed on moving the process forward. Her assistant is also very professional, knowledgeable and focussed on customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend Maxine.

Per previous commentary this lawyer delves into emotional backdrop rather than the facts; taking your time, energy and money. Much money spent culminating in delays, errors, minimal interaction with M. Kerr mostly with her clerk. A terrible ecperience. I do not recommend.

RUN from this lawyer. She is the stereotypical lawyer who is after money and doesn't know the definition of "mediation". All she wants is a long drawn out process to bill many hours and build up her bank account. She will empty your bank account and draws upon your emotions to keep you topping up her retainer. One of the worst lawyers I have ever encountered.

I have been a family law client of Ms. Kerr’s through an incredibly challenging divorce. I can say without any hesitation that absent of her extensive knowledge and expertise in dealing with the myriad of issues that can be family law, I would not be on a path to recovery.
