Kick ass lawyer. Always showed up prepared. Poor her, she had to explain things to me more than once but she stayed patient. In the end, I'm very happy with the result. I'd like to say I got my money's worth but it was legal aid. So I guess I got WAY more than what I paid for!!!

Despite what is said below, Ms Lord took on my case with a legal aid certificate and worked her butt off. I know she put in WAY more hours than legal aid will pay. Clear sign she gives a damn. Would recommend to any one!

if you have the money to pay her, she might do a decent job. if you are going the legal aid route, forget about it. Kept telling her client that she felt she was working for nothing while he was trying to process his legal aid application. He would never be able to get a hold of her and the receptionist never passed messages. Did not prepare client and witness for a bail hearing which caused bail to be denied. Very poor choice of words in front of the judge that implied her client was guilty. Crown attorney sounded much more professional and strong in her questions/comments. She lied to us presenting the crowns plea deal but of course that was the only time the conversation was over the phone so there is no proof of her not giving proper legal advice to her client.

Me Lord will go through every step with you and take the time to provide all necessary informations regarding your case. One thing I know about her is that she never give up! No matter how hard and complex the situation is,she will give all she has. Her passion for justice is indisputable. She is tenacious, intelligente and efficient and this is exclaty why I'm recommending her.

Teribble lawyer she cost me 3yrs of my life and everything i owned becase she leaves the work up to her assistants,dosent follow up ,isnt proactive and is buddys with the crown attorneys ,if you want to be prossecuted on hersay alone shes the lawer for you other wise stay away she will do you no good i was borought up on false alagations wich i was aquitted thanks to a real lawyer all she did was extend my court experiance for over 3 years and got me charged with aditional charges that had nothing to do with the original case. the original case was my first offence with no prior criminal record ,she should be disbarred and simply should not be practicing law

I have had the opportunity to meet and deal with several lawyers (unfortunately) and this lady is by far the best I have ever did business with. If you're full of it, she'll call you on it. Melanie Lord is very knowledgeable, she does care, she does return calls/emails promptly ... and extremely fair rates. Seriously, I would recommend her to anyone based on my experience with her.

poor in front of the Judges.....Does not make an effort to research and understand the case she is defend.....Very slow not pationate about law very clear that law was just something that she wanted to kill time with, sadly what a waste of time it took her to obtain her degree as well as the BAR! Very questionable especially her professional mannerism...Do not recommend to anyone !
