Very knowledgeable, Tina is tenacious and really fights for you. Timely communication. She will only call or meet when it is necessary, she will not waste your money and time. She is also quite empathetic which I find it a rare quality in lawyers. I don't understand why some reviews are painting such a negative picture of her. I wonder if those are the people whose counsel lost their cases to Tina so they are upset over it. It is totally understandable. Maybe these people need to seek therapy to deal with their feelings.

I ended up having to deal with THuizinga as an arbitrator because the abusive ex & his abusive lawyer forced it into arbitration. The summary we sent to TH before our first meeting was 5 pages of lies from them. After meeting & sitting down, she gave me a long lecture about how the kids "only have 1 dad" & I had to force them to communicate & see him- their abuser. Later, she told me in other words, that he had reason to be abusive & I was making it up. She helped force my kids & I into reunification therapy which was extending even more abuse. She pushed things through that were all to benefit him. I couldn't ask questions or review anything. She wrote it up and it was done. One time when I asked a question, she said that if I didn't agree, she would mandate it in her final write up & things would be worse for me & my kids. I truly hope no one ever has to deal with her, especially if you are getting out of abuse because she will help extend the abuse.

Tina has claimed to be and "expert" in international law. Nothing could be further from the truth. She proved wildly outdated case law that meant nothing except billable hours. She is not with a penny. We agree with the commented referring to her as rude, unprofessional, unethical and over all a very low quality lawyer. We DO NOT recommend. You are better off asked AI to do your research and have a government appointed lawyer file your case.

Tina behaves in a way that; she is above the law. She did not collect an additional retainer, in accordance with her Retainer Agreement, moreover she issued an additional award - that was contrary to the Arbitration Act. Her behaviour is / was absolutely atrocious, and is in no way acted in the best interest of the child. Trust me - you will be picking up the pieces of your life, and the life of your children / trying to salvage their mental health should you choose to use this horrific individual.

Tina helped me with a very difficult family situation and although at times I was frustrated with communication delays, in the end I recognize that she is and will likely remain extremely busy. Smart as a whip, when the only negative reviews about her are from people she rolled over in court, except that one guy who apparently doesn't understand what family property is. Highly recommended, but don't bother hiring her if you aren't willing to spend 15k minimum on your issue.

Tina has represented me or a family member in 2 divorces. She was tenacious in defending my rights. Something my previous lawyer could not seen to accomplish. I can not reconcile the Tina I know with the criticisms on this site. Maybe these were posted by the disgruntled parties she "bettered", because the their comments are definitely not about the same person I dealt with, or was in court with.

She is crude, cold and down right nasty! Everytime I received correspondence from her, I was re-traumatized all over again! She actually made fun of me to the judge!!! Everytime I left "FAMILY" court I was in a full on panic attack AND owing my millionaire ex-husband money everytime. It eventually added up to $1500...I'm a single mother of 2 children, one being disabled and I was on income support due to PTSD from my marriage. She then proceeded to have me barred from petitioning the court for any reason until the amount was paid in full! That was after my exe took my kids from school and kept them for weeks over Christmas break which was MY court ordered time! I was fighting For custody of my children against an abuser with no financial limit! Family laws not a place to be cut throat!!

Divorced male and female friends say how incredulously poorly I was represented by her. The other lawyer beat her on every move and took me to the cleaners. $1,000,000 dollars for a four year marriage and never worked a minute for the company. Do your homework, it will make a difference in your quality of life for years to come.

Tina blew us away. Her knowledge in the law was astonishing. She knew exactly how to handle my ex who bullied his way through life. She got us exactly what we needed. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

You get every penny worth of your hard earned money when using Tina! She will fight ferociously if you give her the proper facts and information. I would not want to be on the other side of her wrath. HIGHLY recommend her!

If you are looking for someone to hold your hand, sing you lullabies and tell you bed time stories, this is not the lawyer for you. But if you are looking for real results, someone who is extremely intelligent and will fight for you harder than anyone, then Tina is for you. She is not cheap, but she is worth every cent!She has a strong work ethic and is the lawyer you want in your corner.

Difficult, childish (calls others names in the courtroom)and should have been reined in/disbarred years ago. to quote a previous review "This lawyer will stoop so low ethically that she will ask others to outright lie for her under oath, in affidavit documentation, etc. to benefit her own agenda and cover her butt. What I have witnessed by her and her firm is so completely unethical I don't know how anyone can turn a blind eye and continue to work with her." She hasn't changed her MO...she got away with this behavior in the courtroom back in 2005 and I'm glad she is being called out on it. She is not a feminist, more like an opportunist she will lie for anyone foolish to hire her.

I was SO blessed to have Tina on my file. My file was extremely high conflict and she managed it so well. My ex's lawyer was awful and she made sure to protect my interests and not let me get bullied. We had a very successful outcome. Tina has profoundly impacted my future and my daughter's future in a very positive way. Tina is also very fair in her billing. She doesn't gouge like other lawyers. I would recommend Tina in a heartbeat for family and friends.

Tina is amazing. Dealt with my ex both with and without a lawyer. Followed the law to a t, always had a solution and never backed down. Always on top of my file and got everything done. Will not let her clients get pushed around. If you are lucky enough to be able to hire to a, do it!

Tina is an amazing lawyer, well educated and proficient. I appreciate her ability to cut to the chase and get things done. I would hate to be opposing council given that Tina will not back down and she knows her options and has a plan of attack. She is awesome, and like the A Team, if you need help and you can retain her...you need Tina.

Tina Huizinga is in my opinion the Best Family Law Lawyer in Alberta, possibly Canada. Tina is very tenacious and knows the law. She is not afraid to "battle it out" when required and will not shy away from other "dominant" male lawyers. She is smart, tenacious, and gets the job done and done well. She has been our lawyer for over 5 years now, and came recommended! highly recommend Tina (if you can get her)!
