Charged a very expensive initial rate and provided no help, just website links where I could apply for visa myself. Outrageously expensive for providing information I already had

I generally don't do ratings and reviews but the service and care we received from Julia Herzog was above and beyond any expectations. She thoroughly explained all the intricacies of our particular issue including the risks of not entering Canada due to a previous arrest. As Ms. Herzog explained each potential risk she also explained how we were to mitigate each risk. She guided us in attaining letters of reference and she also coached us for our encounter at the border including things like dress and behaviour and most of all she was waiting for us on the other side and was only a phone call away if things were not working out. That was very assuring and comforting. The fact that we were able to take care of our issue and come and go at will now is the proof that her expertise and preparations (which seemed at first excessive) were spot on.

Thorough, professional and competent. These words describe Julia and our experience working with her. She took the time to patiently answer all of our questions and guide us through the (stressful) immigration process. She was so supportive and thorough. Worth every penny!

We relied on her out of desperation for a time-sensitive matter. This lawyer asked for a massive deposit up front and then proceeded to use it all before providing a single bill. She did practically no work and the work she actually did may in fact have worsened the situation. What immigration lawyer charges $350/hour? (Particularly when the client states clearly that they have no money). She was evasive when I tried to communicate with her. When confronted, she is a great dramatist, playing the victim and moralizing. She seems to base her career on taking advantage of people too vulnerable to fight her or report her to the Law Society (immigrants and refugees). Other lawyers said her conduct was totally unacceptable. Incompetent, manipulative, greedy, evasive. AVOID at all costs.

After leaving the U.S. so many decades ago, I just wanted confirmation of my loss of U.S. nationality. Julia helped me to figure out what I needed to do to apply for this obscure paperwork.
