My whole life changed after I met Sumit Ahuja. I am amazed at the perseverance Sumit took at exposing the truth of what was happening in my life in the court room. Through Sumit's caring and hard work I was allowed equal access to my two beautiful children almost overnight. As time went on dealing with constant court applications from the other side who wanted to take the little time I had with the children away, Sumit began fighting harder to expose the truth of what was happening. I met Mr. Sumit Ahuja in December when my children's case was in hopeless situation. I have been trough MANY lawyers(which the vast majority of them ONLY CARE FROM THE MONEY and some did more damage then help)in a HORRIBLE complex family case.
I got a recommendation on Sumit Ahuja and right away with his work ethics and caring approach he started to give me hope that FINALLY I found a lawyer that is willing to FIGHT for me and actually CARE from the truth and from his clients.
Maybe most importantly I found out quickly that Sumit and his team WILL DO EVERYTHING THAT NEEDED, EVEN WHEN ITS HARD AND TAKES A LOT OF WORK FROM THERE PART!(when most lawyers just choose the easier path for them that requires the lest amount of work and make them the most money).
Frankly without the help of the AMAZING Sumit I would probably have been already giving up.

Please disregard the previous two ratings by my angry ex-wife. Sumit Ahuja just finished a lengthy trial for me that my ex would not let end. My ex-wife is a bully and is now incredibly angry at the outcome, lashing out in every way she possibly can, she has no control and has been reporting professionals in my family matter to their regulatory bodies and writing false reviews everywhere. My ex-wife's posting of a decision from the law society has NOTHING to do with her. The law society hearing is over and Sumit is still rotating tables in the courtroom. I am so grateful for Sumit and all his talent and hard work he put into my case that got my children back with me full time. My advice is to interview Sumit among several lawyers before you make a life changing decision in the courts. In my opinion from personal and costly experience: Sumit is the best lawyer you could find because he is a true warrior and not afraid of anyone in the courtroom, and HE WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS!

Not ethical, and wondering why did he want to be a lawyer? Would not recommend him, and people like him don't care about honest principles, lack integrity and don't care about much except himself. You can make money without being a crook, but I guess its easier to lie, steal, cheat, bribe, manipulate the system to get the result and money you want. He's like the lawyer for the mafia, but he uses and preys o families instead when they're vulnerable. Give yourself a pat on the back and applaud yourself, you only know how to play with a shady hand, but I'm sure your time will come when you get outplayed and you're up against he odds, I'm sure you'll find yourself in a place where your back is against the wall, and you can't scam your way out. So no matter how much you think youre winning your time will come...

Going through family court has been one of the most stressful events of my life. Dealing with one previous lawyer and then self representing myself through the courts has made me feel hopeless, angry and frustrated by a system I never wanted to be part of. I was already a year and half into a horrific legal battle with regards to child support & guardianship for my son when I met Sumit. We just had a Emergency Court Hearing to fight for denial of parenting rights. We feel so blessed to have Sumit representing us. He has our little girls best interest at heart which is very reassuring since she does not have a voice in all of this. Sumit is very knowledgeable of the system and confident in his craft. He always makes sure to keep us informed on every detail of the process which we truly appreciate. This process albeit stressful, would be even more so if we had just any lawyer. Sumit really knows his legal crafts. You can't find a better lawyer in my opinion in the lower mainland not to mention in BC. He understood my file and took care of everything in such a timely manner that I'm grateful to him. He has a great team as well who are very helpful and do things as requested. During my time with him he became such a close and good friend of mine that we refer business to each other as well as our chemistry was there. But if you want a peace of mind and be stress free he is your guy...I can not recommend him enough as he is the best. So do yourself a favor and hire him and be stress free. About a year ago my ex wife found a way to have my kids taken away from me and tried to relocate to another city by alleging some pretty unbelievable claims against me. The ministry got involved and my 3 kids were removed from my home. I hired a so-called good lawyer that turned out to be a complete waste of money and time. I hired Summit even though he was 800km away. As soon as Summit got involved everything changed, he was able to make my ex's lawyer quit on her within 30 days and he crushed her next to lawyer and I got my kids back and her relocation attempt was defeated. Summit is worth every penny.I wouldn't even bother wasting any time worrying about his past. Everybody makes mistakes including me and even you. All I can say is that Summit was able to brilliantly work his magic through our court system and get the results that I needed. He didn't even charge me for telephone conversations. Can't thank him enough and he's actually somebody i call a brother now.

I am a practicing family lawyer in Surrey and have been against Sumit in court. I have no hesitation saying he knows the law, articulates well and maximizes his client's chances for success. He is a fine lawyer and a worthy opponent. He also does not personalize the litigation with opposing counsel, which I appreciate. Yes, he has had personal struggles in the past few years but to all those who would like to anonymously flame him, or any other lawyer, on this site, without consequences, you should know the public has little conception, or appreciation, of how difficult it is to run a successful family law practice. The very fact Sumit continues to do so in the face of his recovery from addiction is proof of his resiliency and should be celebrated. I thank god that Sumit was on my side. All other lawyers would not take my complex case but Sumit stepped in and helped me attain Justice that took four long years. Those years were the darkest days of my kids and my life. After my Ex transferred all our properties and left the children and I high and dry. I just finished the hearing today at Vancouver Supreme Court, he didn't waste my time and help me to resolve my problem (Parenting denial) within a few weeks!. Very professional and friendly. My ongoing experience with Sumit has been amazing to say the least. He is intelligent, knowledgeable, attentive focused, and passionate. When things became difficult with the other side, Sumit would regularly call and reassure me that he would take care of things and he did just that. A few weeks later he got me to shared parenting despite a tremendous amount of resistance from opposing counsel. Throughout the process, Sumit has been a great advocate and friend. Few lawyers will call to make sure you're doing okay, drive with you to court hearings, or give you a hug when you finally get the results that you fought for. This says he was being influenced by the other lawyer. Hmm I paid for the house, why would he even have a house. Don't trust this man. He lies, manipulates, and only wants to rack up billing hours. How many firms does he have to go through for any firm to realize he isn't worth losing the firms reputation. How costly this was. Don't ever hire Sumit Abuja for help. I was served notice to be in court on moday morning. My friend introduced me to Sumit on the phone on saturday and i had met him on sunday. He took my case no problem. He is very professional and knowledgeable with all his information. We went to court and he did a great job of representing me. Sumit was our lawyer for a case involving my son and his wife who separated December 31, 2015. My daughter in law used her drug pusher boyfriend to "serve" us when in fact he didn't. The case went to court without our knowledge and the judge granted full custody to her. We were notified of this 1 hour and 15 minutes before we were legally obligated to turn the infant over to them. Sumit literally saved the day by arranging a judge to hear our case "night court" style and over the phone. We managed to overturn the judgement and the judge gave us an order in our favour. I am shocked at the number of positive reviews for Mr. Ahuja. He currently has one citation and is under disciplinary action before the BC Law Society. In matters of divorce and child custody, Mr. Ahuja's bottom line is winning not mediation (which is what should be done). In my experience he shows no regard for the children involved. He both argues and tries to erase a parent from a child's life. He writes boldfaced lies in his correspondence. He sometimes will not consult his client and will make a decision for the client. HIs correspondence is always sloppy and full of mistakes. He sends his client's affidavits without editing them. He is flippant in his correspondence. He also lacks the ability to think critically. If his client's goals are unrealistic he is very willing to proceed with those goals, perhaps because he can keep charging them and make money. While he claims to be an advocate for women, he has no problem being dishonest to his female clients.

I approached Sumit at a time of desperation and frustration with my family law matter. Although I had retained a highly qualified lawyer, he was unable to get me any results and rather negotiated away any meaningful parenting time I had with my child. Sumit handled my case very well. Considering that it was very difficult to deal with. I found out my wife was committing adultery. After this information was presented to me I tried to handle this matter as easily as possible for the sake of our 2 children. Unfortunately she was bitter that seperation was the only option of mine and she decided to make life very difficult from that point forward. I did not see my children for 6 months and everything else was falling apart at a slow but painful pace. That's when I took Sumit on and from that point on, I not only got my children back 50/50, we ended up settling this month that came extremely unexpected as we were set for trial in Oct 2017. I no longer pay child support or spousal support, got more percentage from our trust fund, divorced and have a huge weight lifted off my shoulder. I hired Sumit Ahuja for my divorce case, in the beginning he spoke and said the things i wanted to here. However, when it came down to delivering the action in court, he was unexperienced, not prepared, and the way he works is 100% pure hit and miss. Avoid this scamming money hungry lawyer, he is certainly not looking out for the best interest of his clients. He is all talk but no bite. Save yourself and your money, and don't get duped by this clown. It is obvious, and apparent that he himself submitted most of reviews on this website, he must really have too much spare time on his hands. I hired Sumit Ahuja from the to represent me for an assault. Even though this wasn't his main practice area, he was very knowledgeable about it. After looking at the particulars, he assured me the charge would be stayed. Sumit took my situation on as if it was his own, had the trial expedited and 6 months later the charge was stayed as he said. Words fall short for the gratitude and respect I have for this man. It was truly a blessing to come across him. Somehow he lifted my heaviest of burdens and carried them like a feather. I had lost all faith in our system,in lawyers in general,and was on the verge of having no choice but to give up my fight. My divorce is a highly complex lengthy detailed nightmare involving children and everything else under the sun. Having Sumit handle my IRP case was probably one of the best decisions I have made. There's lots of lawyers out there that specialize in dealing with ICBC but Sumit was recommended to me for my case. I was hesitant at first as I initially thought that it may be best to go with a lawyer who deals exclusively with ICBC claims, however, I'm glad I didn't. The first time I met Sumit for a consultation I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He took the time to thoroughly explain my options as my divorce/custody was a very difficult one. I was so impressed I hired him that same day. My family and I hired Sumit Ahuja for our Family Law lawyer. Previously we had hired other lawyers for this custody battle concerning my 5 year old daughter, and we were disappointed on both occasions. Once Sumit was on board with us, everything seemed to fall right in place. We were fighting against a very inconsistent and expensive section 15 report done by a registered clinical forensic psychologist that would have seen me losing more time with my daughter. I had my daughter on a 1 week on and 1 week off rotation for approximately 15 months and the recommendations of the section 15 were that my daughter should be with me about 28% of the year. I was charged and arrested for assault. A friend of mine recommended that I contact Mr. Ahuja. I contacted him immediately. I have never had any involvement with the Judicial system prior to this situation. I had no clue of my rights and what Mr. Ahuja was so helpful in guiding me through the process.
