Do not use this guy. My husband has used him at least twice and referred quite a few people to him and he scammed us. When we initially went to his office he said he would give him the old rate and then when it came time to write a check, he fee was higher than much better lawyers in the Forest Hills are. He was also huffing and puffing about why we didn't use him to represent him as our closing attorney for our next place and we explained it to him, how childish is that. After we closed on the sale of our place we had money in escrow because we were renting from the buyers for 1 month. Turns out the buyers wanted money from escrow for things that had nothing to do with the unit. Mr. Kaplan kept on trying to get us to give the sellers what they wanted, which was in excess of $3,000. I said what for? What kind of a lawyer suggests that? One who already got paid like ROBERT KAPLAN. If you want to use some professional, you better not contact him.
