Absolutely terrible lawyer. Created a theatre of delays and accomplished absolutely nothing that she was hired to do. Highly reactive with virtually no strategic planning. After months of getting nowhere, I fired her and found a lawyer that was able to resolve everything within weeks.

Laurie suggested that I take $200 a month in child support when I was actually entitled to over $1000/month and I had to convince her to push for more! I ended up getting more than $800 so good thing I convinced her to do the right thing and actually ask for what I was entitled to.
On the child support order there was such a bad mistake made that my income every year stays static while his changes and I have to go back to court and change it because this is not something I would ever agree to as it is only of benefit to the other party. When I reached out to Laurie about this concern she just ignored my email.

Mrs Laurie Tymchuk and her staff are absolutely hands down the best lawyer in Calgary. She is super smart , caring , and best of all super efficient . Her responses are super fast . She goes above and beyond in all tasks . I had a very complex case happening in two separate countries . Laurie completely helped me protect my Are enabledchildren she even looked into laws in the other country. If I could give her more stars I would ??My family is forever grateful !!

Laurie was able to manage a very complex situation with professionalism and honesty. I trusted the options she would provide me, as well as her opinion on which direction to go. I walked away from my situation far better off than what I had originally thought. She is confident in her approach and I developed great faith in her abilities over the course of 2 years. I would highly recommend her as your lawyer.

This lawyer will get you about 20% of what you are actually owed for child support, fail to return any emails or calls in a timely manner, and seemingly perform in the best interest of the other party. You are better off representing yourself instead of throwing your money away on this lawyer.

Laurie was fantastic. I had two previous lawyers. One who was only in it for the money and the other one left the province. I was referred to Laurie from my last lawyer and I am glad that I hired her. Third time is a charm. She did what she needed to do to get the job done. She did not waste my time or money and gave me really good direction. I recommend anyone to use Laurie as a lawyer when dealing with a high conflict divorce. If I need to have a lawyer again I will 100 percent be going to this firm.

Even though the time was short, Laurie was able to provide me with tons of knowledge, understanding, and advice. I felt heard and really valued what she was able to provide. Very kind, compassionate and definitely genuine. Would absolutely love to work with her in the future if needed!

Laurie cares about her clients. I had three previous lawyers that cost me a lot of money for a poor advice. I was in a horrible situation. I was referred to Laurie she immediately resolved my situation. She charges fairly. She knows the law and how to get things done. I’m sure glad she was on my side it hate to be on the other end. She answers emails right away and is always available. I can’t say enough good about Laurie she truly cares about her clients and her assistant Roula is fantastic too. I’m so glad I found her.

I came to Laurie and Roula after a very poor experience with another lawyer in the Calgary area. I told Laurie that I needed some one responsive and attentive to my file who will not dodge e-mails and phone calls. I can honestly say the difference in lawyers was night and day. Laurie was everything I needed and gave me far superior advice and information (that I had never heard before!) that ended up making the settlement better than I could have hoped for. Nothing but fantastic things to say about the two of them!

If you were lucky enough to have her work for you prior to the untold events of her crumbling firm - RCMV Law, then perhaps she helped you. I had an almost complete divorce, gave it to Laurie- and she took the past year to hide, avoid emails, not respond to questions or enforce legal moves I asked her to do. She then founded a new firm- without letting her clients know until the week before, and was then unavailable. Her head was not in the game of ‘representing’ her clients for the last year, and this ‘pitbull’ is far from such. She was hired under the guise of ‘this will take 2 months tops’. Well I am here to tell you that in over a year- she tanked my agreement, lost in court, was never prepared, did all things last minute as damage control- and had her client sign without fully disclosing what it meant. She was paid for ONE YEAR, and did not accomplish one thing to protect the best interest of her client. 8 weeks- really? Complete incompetence.

Laurie is a FANTASTIC lawyer and great person! She is very knowledgeable, straight forward, doesn't waste time or your money and gets done what needs to be done. Laurie and her legal assistant Roula have been incredible at assisting and advising me in my ongoing battle regarding my child as it pertains to parental alienation, child support, understanding my legal rights, etc. This includes Laurie's efforts in court in our latest 2 hour domestic special in Alberta court of QB. Ms. Tymchuk is worth her weight in gold!! She’s extremely knowledgeable and can easily decipher what facts are going to be beneficial and at what time. She does her research and is very prepared and confident in the courtroom. She is caring, compassionate, real and goes the extra mile. She is currently representing me and is as determined to see a fair and just outcome as I am. Her response time is quick and her time spend is efficient, ensuring there is no unaccounted for fees. Laurie represented me when she worked for Paul Howard Rowland. I found her to be very knowledgeable and had an excellent understanding of family and matrimonial law. She was very easy to get a hold of and when explaining things she explained it in a manner that I understood. I would strongly recommend Laurie she is a very skilled and effective lawyer.

Jun 2011 R. Foster assigned my file to Laurie saying he would oversee. He did not oversee. She billed me $350/hr. I complained to R.Foster Dec 2011 after Laurie spent 3 hrs reviewing my file on a Friday afternoon, then spent another 2.5 hrs reviewing my file the next week on a Wednesday, after which NOTHING was done! Xmas holidays happened. In Apr 2012 she spent HOURS preparing an Affidavit for child support. Charged me for around 12 hrs @ $350/hr. The Affidavit was never used. It's Jan 2015 and I still don't have child support. In 2 yrs she dealt with my file, she reviewed it a lot, and prepared things that were never used, and I'm no further ahead. She's no longer at Foster LLP. She's at RCM LLP ( Richmond Chickloski Moldowan LLP). Use her if you want to waste your time and money and get nowhere! Otherwise, save your money. She's comes across as a nice person, but incompetent!
