We had one week to find a lawyer for an expulsion hearing for my son. We found Mr.Schuman and he was able to give us the exact legal advice and help we were looking for. Our son was going to be expelled from the board completely and was not given fair treatment or a fair chance in this situation. Mr.Schuman was able to get the expulsion taken away completely as well as help connect us to different therapist that can help my son. He always responded very promptly and helped us to understand the whole process and everything involved. He not only worked very hard at his job but showed compassion in helping to ensure our son can get the help he needs. I could not have asked for a better lawyer or outcome during this very stressful time. I will always be thankful for the work he and his team did for us.

IN MY OPINION, John Schuman practices law through the "political lens of the day in contemplating a legal issue placed before him by a client", rather than by the lens of Her Majesty The Queen". IN MY OPINION, an example of the impact of political practice of law is the act of "health care consent". Ontario R.N. Whettlaufer completing multiple human exterminations as Supreme Court of Canada contemplated cocnstitutionality of medial assisted death and informed consent. The victims receive no justice and no compensation and all Canadians remain exposed, hence a public inquiry. Lawyers could have impressed upon Supreme Court of Canada the fact of no mandatory prescription medication error reporting in Ontario as a risk factor for their contemplation. I was a client of John Schuman and put a pediatric medical matter before him as a lawyer certified in a field of medicine. I would not recommend John Schuman.

Exceptionally thorough, knowledgeable, experienced and established. Holds other lawyers accountable for their actions (he will complain about them to the law society). Overbills? Absolutely, unless the client intervenes correctly early on. Client needs to understand from the very first month billings what is being charged for, then decipher what is value added and what is not, send written communication to stop all that is non value added (specify the types of items) and include the word 'instructions' in all communication. A lawyer must follow your 'instructions', otherwise that lawyer can be reported to the law society. The assessment office deals with review & reduction of fees.

Although he is knowledgeable on the frameworks of family law, he knows very little about your own personal case. His firm is a cash cow that will milk you for everything. Not only will he stumble on most of your questions and concerns, he will drag your case out and rack up your legal bill. The same quality of service can be reached from another lawyer for a tenth of the cost.

Mr. Schuman took on my case, when I thought I had no hope. He turned the court around and got me back on track. He was impressive in court. When I thought my life was over, he got the court to see my side of the story. I can't thank him enough.
