Beware of this judge. She holds a strong bias against women, even worse if your a women who is fighting against an abusive partner. She will order in their favour and give them access, power and control over the situation. This judge has me fearful to go back to court against my abusive ex, because she has shown she does not care. I presented my case professionally as a self rep and she could care less about my situation, had my ex bragging that he won in court. She is not an impartial decision maker, she hates women and will had over a child to a father that slapped him so hard his hand print was across his face. Beware, she should be removed from the bench.

She should be disbarred. Her conduct demonstrates bias and a condescending attitude unbecoming of a judge. She appears to harbor animosity toward women and shows little regard for the integrity of the judicial system, seemingly using her position to assert personal power. Her decisions seem driven by personal motives rather than facts, causing unnecessary harm to women and their children. This behavior undermines the legal process and exacerbates conflicts between parents, ultimately harming the very children the system is meant to protect. Her actions reflect a concerning level of emotional involvement, compromising her impartiality and professional judgment.

Most ignorant judge! Does not even read or understand the Family Law she presided over. Absolutely disgusting. She should be removed from her position. Official complaints filed against her. Denial of peace bond on criminal harassment with ample proof, default judgement and uncontested. She then states historical and dates predating any of submissions. Incompetent.

Amazing legal mind. Got me thru a terrible divorce. Thank goodness for great Lawyers like Karen. She was tenacious when needed but a keen negotiator when the situation called for it. I would highly recommend Ms Leef. A 10+ in my opinion.

This individual has 0 respect for Canadian Law and Canada’s Charter of Rights. She imposes her personal feelings and opinions over facts and law. If Judges and Lawyers are supposed to maintain the public’s confidence in our judicial system, this individual should be disbarred immediately. She is the perfect example of the disdainful prejudice corrupt scum that is on the front lines of Canada’s Family Court System. She is a true Karen wearing the title of “honourable”, an “honourable Karen” if you will. I honestly feel sorry for people like Karen. Her life must be so terrible that she feels the need to compensate by taking it out on the public that funds her disgraceful existence. Let’s keep Karen in our prayers, she truly needs them!

had the misfortune to appear before Justice Leef 2020. She was ill-prepared for our case Conf, did NOT listen to my responses, spoke over me, was rude, condescending & disrespectful. She mocked me several times, her mind was made up before entering the court. She fails to comprehend family law rules so makes them up to suit herself. She is condescending, arrogant, obnoxious & offensive. She didn’t follow even the basics of Family Law Rules & misspoke often making legal references. I didn’t have a lawyer, couldn’t afford one. My case was for ACCESS to my granddaughter. She lived w me from birth to 7 with open access after they left, she’s 10 years now. Her Mom withholds her as punishment. I filed an Application w Family Court under Bill 34, Grandparents Access & Visitation Rights. Leef didn’t seem aware of BILL 34. I regret not walking out midway, contempt or not, I have zero respect for Leef both as a person or Justice. Respect is earned, she’s a disgrace to her peers and profession.

I had here as a judge in Oshawa at a Settlement Conference. She does not follow court procedures. We attended several case and Settlement Confrences. We were closer to settlement after her involvement we go further away as she now allow Respondent to file the same documents that were previously filed with allegations that were dismissed previously. Now Applicant does the same. Evidence submitted that child support was not being paid. She asked Respondent if he knew the amount to be paid. He said yes. Document applicant filed in the court that she had in her present and evidence of service to Respondent she asked to be filed again because Respondent don’t have a copy. Applicant was not served with document she told applicant to get it from court file. Sad state of the judicial system.

Karen Leef is a very busy lawyer but she is straight with you and does not take any bull. She tells it like it is and get things done.

I had a below average experience. It was a complete gongshow at times, but she can be nice. I would not recommend her to anyone at this point.

I went to Karen after my first lawey told me she couldn't go any further due to health reasons. First what a disaster! All Karen did was cash my cheques. She never returned any phone calls or emails and her main plan was to give everything to my ex. She did absolutely nothing for me or my case and I look at her services as a complete waste of money and time.
