My family and I had the honor of meeting and using Ed Burwell, Esq. after a coworker recommended him. Our situation was not only dire, but also complicated due to my son and grandson had to relocate from an unsafe environment in another state. They did not have immediate jurisdiction but Mr. Burwell kept close attention of the situation and provided advice and also went out of his way to find an attorney in that state to represent us. As a result my son was awarded sole and primary custody of my grandson and they both are flourishing here in Texas! We are forever grateful to Mr. Burwell for his honesty, and tenacity and we recommend him wholeheartedly! Thank you for everything Ed!

We spoke to several attorneys, were about to give up and hire someone just to have someone, then at the 11th hour, called Ed Burwell.
He struck me as a scrapper that doesn't mind fighting the "good fight" and that is exactly what we needed to deal with a bully ex.
We read the reviews & some weren't great but we decided to go with our gut and were very glad we did. He took the case at the last minute and worked late with us the night before to prepare.
He listened to their offer to settle first but it was not worth the time and we wanted to take our chances in front of the judge. He didn't try to convince us to take a bad deal because he believed in us and really went to bat on our behalf.
He found every hole in their testimony and discredited the other side. He left the plaintiffs stuttering and unsure of their own words; their heads are probably still spinning in disbelief. The man has a gift and noone else could have done what he did or was even willing to try. Simply exception

This lawyer talks a good game and you can tell he would be great, that is if he shows up for your mediation and hearing. He is extremely high priced, but I can honestly say I don't know why. He really let me down.

If you want custody over your children you are best suited to go with Burwell. If you are a father, and seeking custody, he is you're man. He can be tough on his clients from time to time. We all get very emotional when it comes to custody. He is able to expose the other party. I would never recommend another attorney besides him. We have now followed him through a long 3 year battle. I still continue to have problems with my ex. He has never miss led me or encourage me to Get nasty with my ex when I really want him to. He doesn't cost a little more... but he does seek fathers rights and believes and fathers rights. When you are emotional people tend to call over and over. I think it's fair that he charges for those questions. He knows the law, and his expertise is family law. Don't risk your case with anybody else. I am a former u s army ranger. I have never posted anything online before. After reading the previous post I felt very angry. You talk to him and decide for yourself.

This attorney will drag your case out far longer than it should be, all the while racking up charges for any and every little thing. Something that should have taken no more than 4 months has taken almost a year. He has a questionable record with the Texas Bar, and will drag your case out and charge you far more than should be... Communication with him is horrible. Please, be smarter than I was, do a google search on him, check with the Texas Bar Assoc. He is a crook!!!!
