Brenda came across as incredibly knowledgeable in my initial consultation. I immediately signed on with her as I felt her years of experience would be beneficial. Over a year and after $20,000 in legal bills with her, I am no further ahead than when I first met with her for the initial consult. I have no separation agreement and no custody agreement. Throughout the time I used her, she assured me that certain options were on my side when in fact they were not. She is incredibly hard to get ahold of, overlooked multiple items on my file and sadly she lacked current family law knowledge. I was incredibly displeased with her and would not recommend her services.

I feel compelled to write a review for Bruce & Birklein Law. I connected with Brenda a few years ago when I experienced a confusing end to a relationship. Brenda was very empathetic but also super clear about next steps. Since that time, I have encouraged a few of my close friends to also connect with Brenda and the team. Brenda provided my friends with a free consult, offering clarity, direction and understanding during their messy, unclear times. It may very well have been the best advice I could have given!

Brenda has been my lawyer since December 2008. She helped me through a very difficult and upsetting separation and divorce and through her excellent knowledge and expertise as a family/divorce lawyer I was able to win my case, which gave me the ability to be financially secure and thus I could buy a new home. She was supportive both emotionally and professionally and I have her to thank that I came through the ordeal a stronger person. Brenda also helped me to set up my will and she has also helped me with bank matters. I highly recommend Brenda and will use her services in the future. If there was a "10" on the scale, this is what I would award her.

It was an honor meeting Brenda Birklein! She is a top professional; she guided and taught us about some Canadian regulations and standards. We felt very comfortable talking to her and more importantly, she was open to receiving feedback on how we felt. We’re so glad we found her and we will no longer feel afraid about seeking a lawyer to have legal papers drafted.
On the other hand, the new office is very welcoming and the people serving you are number one.

Brenda did not keep any of the commitments she made to me. Missed many deadlines to respond to both myself and my exes lawyer and after charging me a fortune lost my case on every issue and marched out of the courtroom without so much as a thank you for your business or a goodbye. I think she is dishonest, rude and incompetent.

I was struggling to getting some time sensitive papers drawn up and she was very accommodating and informative on my situation. She was very pleasant and open to help me. I even learned a few new legal terms. I recommend her to my peers and will continue to see her with any further advice.

Brenda Birklien is the only reason that I like lawyers. The service she provided is above and beyond what I expected. She treated me with kindness and compassion and resolved my issue and made sure I was happy with the result. She is the best lawyer I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with and the ONLY lawyer I would deal with in the future.

Actually, I suspect her legal qualities are better than BAD, but had no chance to find out. She kept on cancelling appointments on me.
