Took 2 1/2 years to probate a simple will(bank accounts only). Had our first meeting at 4 months. Did not explain everything in simple terms. Would not recommend this lawyer.

Hard to get an estimate cost from this firm, when finally done the cost was more than double what we anticipated. When we questioned there costs they just changed the subject.We used to deal with Sandra Steele and the same deal we did with her was $1000 less, she is retired and we needed a new lawyer, we will not be using this firm again.

Worst lawyer experience ever.Purchased a home through Derek.Having talked to many others after in Salmon Arm BC Derek has regulary overcharged many clients. $10,000 for a title search and home purchase legal fees are normal.Now I would have been fine with that if I had been properly informed. As the sale came closer to an end, more and more (hidden)costs came up to the surface.I recently also found out straight from the interested party himself that a property this person was interested in buying and had retained Dereks firm for, got overbid by Derek HIMSELF, which could be a potential perjury claim. He os still debating taking legal action. Having spoken and now dealt with more honest lawyer firms in Salmon Arm often negative feedbacks arise from the conversation when refering to the Mc Manus Law firm. Strongly recommend considering another law firm in Salmon Arm.
