Not a lawyer that I would hire to represent in court. In CanLII there are many cases reflective to his performance. He would run you down financially with less than mediocre results and a big whole in your purse. Other than holding you up as long as you keep paying, the "end of day" results will makes you sad for your legal advice choice you had made.

Had a costly bad experience with this lawyer. The charging scale goes up once he hood you with the initial costs. His work is more on your dime than your case. I wa forced to take the legal fees for assessment and I got back more than half. I would clearly not recommend this firm. Low level knowledge from Mr Legge and poor work quality. Highly questionable ethics...no morale, either. Paid arm-and-leg for my mistake choosing this firm between 2020-2023. Aside of the fact that it is hard to understand the logic in Mr Legge's ample and 'sofisticated' talking, the actions are not measuring up and the results very low for a very high price. Keep high awareness and engagement with them! Very little left from the professional firm started by the founders.

Likes to speak a lot. Hard to make sense of what this lawyer is saying. He provides costly services with lower benefits. I do not recommend this lawyer for your family case.

I'm very surprised at some of these comments. I did NOT find John financially motivated at all. He opted not to charge me for an extremely lengthy consultation. He is extremely knowledgeable and can see how things play out far down the road due to his vast knowledge and experience. What he says can be very upsetting, but nonetheless is absolutely true whether you want to hear it or not. I would highly recommend him.

Extremely aggressive when challenged by a client, never mind the other side. Likes hearing himself speak, rather than listening to his client. Does not respect privacy laws. Doomsayer to scare client into proceeding with an action without being guided as to the risks and costs of losing. So much more to say, but not more room to type it...

Absolutely terrible lawyer. Never use him for real estate as he has zero clue about real estate. Also charges $700/hr which you can get a better rate and better knowledge from ANYONE in Toronto.

John knows the legal community and the way the game is played better than anyone I know... solid, compassionate and respectful of his clients... for every bad comment I dare say there are ten silent supporters of Mr Legge- he cares deeply for his clients and it shows.

I wish I never met this one John Legge, such a damning experience he was. As for the money charged - took him for assessment of his fees and getting more than half of my money back. My strong opinion - forget it!

If you enter the court with him as your lawyer, you have a solid chance turning your case into a mess. You will get into the likelihood of a "never ending story". Keep paying and... stay tuned for his "amazing job". Remarkable with this lawyer is sloppy work and poor material presentation, although impressive by volume.

This was the worst experience I have had. In my opinion, you will find yourself bamboozled by his chatter. Our new lawyers will have a lot of cleaning up to do due to his and his staff's inability to manage our case and communicate. He was very rude and abusive and is not always forthcoming. There are better lawyers and firms in Toronto.
