Stay away from this lawyer! He will stall your case to squeeze every dollar he can out of you. Unethical, unknowledgeable, incompetent, and rude. He will make the divorce process even more stressful and terrible than it needs to be, and happily charge you along the way. He will guide you poorly and then blame you for it. He will remember nothing and make stuff up. He only cares about the money. Save your money, time, and frustration by staying away from this lawyer.

I cannot comment on Mr. Fogelman as a retained lawyer as he did not take our case. However, he was the 1st lawyer who told us straightforwardly why he would not take our case; he didn't lie about being full for the next 3 months, or how we live far from him, or similar hackneyed phrases that other lawyers use in which no one believes, especially not AFTER few lawyers took your money to hear about your case and turned you down leaving you $500 - $1,000 short, even though you told them clearly that you were looking for a lawyer who would take your case. If you are looking for a lawyer who will sugarcoat for you as you cannot take the truth, he is definitely not a lawyer for you. However, if you are looking for a wise lawyer who will honestly prepare for intake meeting on his own or with his assistant (as all smart and highly organized lawyers do) and tell you politely and calmly how to proceed to succeed, and what you must avoid, then he is go to person as Herschel is a truthteller.

I cannot comment on Mr. Fogelman as a lawyer, but he is an excellent mediator/arbitrator who is very knowledgeable about the law and gets agreements done. Highly recommend him.

this lawyer is nothing but a money hungry lawyer. he makes his junior lawyer (who has only been practicing for 2 years) deal with very complicated matters than charges you her time and his for reviewing. he waits until you've called enough to incurred more costs and than calls you back with no answer. stay as far away from this lawyer as possible. he is no good and damages you mentally, emotionally and financially during this difficult time and situation. he should not be allowed to practice in this country.

My ex and I used Herschel as a mediator for our very contentious divorce. I was skeptical using him based on his reviews, plus he was recommended by my ex's attorney, so I was concerned about bias. I found him very knowledgeable, empathetic and understanding of the issues. He did not take sides but helped us find a practical middle ground. I would highly recommend him. Overall he was terrific and brought our grueling 2 year divorce to an end in 1 day.

HF is only concerned with getting his hands on your funds. He is slimy and unprofessional and will not listen to the truth. He is a bully and should not be a lawyer. Do not hire him. Just look at his ratings and they speak for themselves. I find it difficult to believe that the few 5 star ratings are authentic. Just my opinion. You will be sorry if you hire this clown. In my case, he went straight to assets and did not bother reading or learning the truth. Pathetic.

The worst lawyer I have ever seen. Stay away from this guy. He will push you to do all the wrong things just to keep his hand in your pocket. Complete waste of money. Hershel should be embarrassed to practice law. Constantly unprepared, submits documents the day before trial or mediation. Constantly late to every trial date or mediation. Herschel Fogelman was my lawyer in my divorce case for a almost a year. He started with great promises that made me feel he gave a damn and was actually going to do something. Shortly after he decided to pass me on to his junior who actually at first did make some effort. It did not take too long for both of them to leave me hanging in the middle of my matrimonial dispute, stopped answering my calls or returning my messages and simply stopped caring. They stopped lifting a finger for me without any explanation. To be fair Herschel Fogelman did tell me he is too busy for me. I would not recommend this firm. Don't waste your money here.

Going through a divorce is tough enough. You would expect the individuals that are involved to be objective, fair and free of bias. Fogelman is none of that. Keeps very poor notes. He scarred our family for life.Made clear procedural and factual errors, destroyed any prospect of reasonable resolution. At the end I had to go to court to clean this mess up. Please..I beg you...avoid this man as an arbitrator.

HF was a complete waste of time and money. (He represented me in my mediation that was conducted by P.Epstein). HF was ill prepared, not effective at giving me counsel through the mediation, did not have a strategy. My case was so poorly handled that I presented a well documented complaint to the law society which upon Review was ACCEPTED as a legitimate case of wrongdoing. We settled at a hearing and thankfully I did not have to pay the outrageous bill that HF felt he was owed. I am surprised to see HF is now acting as a mediator. I would not trust him to be professional or we'll prepared for a case. Be careful!

He was our mediator and I found him to be knowledgeable and thorough. He was no nonsense, and worked hard to get the agreement even though we went into it so far apart. i was very pleased with the outcome, which wasn't too far off what i had hoped and what my lawyer and i had planned.

I would absolutely not recommend this mediator/arbitrator to anyone. His separation agreements are garbage and leads to disputes almost immediately. He 0verbills, does not finish the job, does not provide clear judgements instead leaving things open in an arbitration report for the parties to continue to argue about. He takes sides especially when a women starts sobbing. He will gladly take your money and fail to deliver. Even overbills. He will leave you empty handed.

One sided. The lawyer that takes him on seems to have a under the table deal. Puts pressure on one to sign quickly at mediation with huge threats. He doesn't care about the laws of Ont. He does and says what he wants for a specific party to win.

Mr. Fogelman was opposing counsel in my case. He refused to submit needed documents for his client and hedged very basic questions making it impossible to mediate or even understand his client's point of view. I found him to be a bully in court. For a mediator he lacked any sense of compromise or ethical fairness. He unnecessarily drove up legal costs for both parties.

One sided nobody was allowed any input at mediation. He didn't want to hear what you had to say. He makes the decisions at a mediation session even if it was not an arbitration session of which I did not sign for. He makes decisions when he doesn't know all the facts. A total waste of time and outrageous legal bills a lot higher than he quotes. Would not recommend him to anyone. He was very forceful making you sign under duress of which nobody should when their live depends on it.

he pretends he is a judge, he makes mistakes with basic laws, takes time off to train and ride hios bike during arbitrations .I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM , he his not qualified. You would be better served using a monkey to do your arbitration than this man, he is a marginal family law lawyer at best

I would agree with the previous two comments.He surely takes sides. He leaves matters fuzzy when he cannot justify his recommendations. don't pick him as arbitrator if proposed by opposite counsel or you will suffer and of course if proposed by your counsel, he may benefit you as he may know your counsel. He has a good sense of humour. During arbitration hearing he will give you an impression that he likes you, but he is not. I would say very conniving.

Unfortunately a very bad mediator and arbitrator. The process was horrific and didn't make sense in any logical way. Mr. Fogelman was only interested in making a name for himself and not what was in the best interest of the children and unfortunately they lost out in the end. I was told that he is only interested in "being on the bench" and in our case he did not care about the situation at hand, just on which lawyer presented a better argument. He did not set any limits during arbitration and asked the lawyers how they wanted to run things, turning everything into Kangaroo court. I would never recommend Mr. Fogelman to any one and have discouraged a friend already from choosing him as a mediator.

I would absolutely not recommend this mediator to anyone. He is arrogant, pretentious, fake and does not listen, takes sides and has no mediation skills. He will gladly take your money to talk to you about his life, the great times he had on his trips and will leave you empty handed.
