Shockingly incompetent. Ms Kinney is ineffective at mediating or negotiating outside of court, she is disorganized and relies completely on administrative assistance to simply maximize her billing hours without providing her clients with any value. She increases her estimates after your initial retainer is paid and wasted tens of thousands of dollars in court time and client fees. She lacks integrity and basic technical skills. It’s truly unbelievable that she has a career in a profession that impacts the lives of children and families. Do not waste your time or money.

Don't hire this lawyer forever,she pretended to work on your file but she wasn't fighting hard for clients and charged way more much,waste your money and time!

Very poor services. She will ask for a huge retainer give you advice in consultation and later she will contradict herself and state that she never said that. Very unprofessional and greedy. Really rushing you into litigation just to get your money fast. She will waste fast the retainer and dump you before the court. DO NOT let yourself foolished by the awesome reviews.

Shelagh was invaluable in helping me get through my recent divorce. She is a fantastic lawyer and person. My specific case was quite complicated as my ex and I shared real estate, multiple businesses and custody of our two amazing children. I always felt (and still do) that Shelagh had my back, so to speak, in all areas of the process. She gave me support when I wanted to cave in and in the end helped me resolve all issues completely to my satisfaction. I would absolutely hire her again.

Shelagh Kinney recently represented me with a late life divorce. I had been married for over 37 years. She approached all aspects of divorce proceedings in a professional, timely and effective way. She is a very good listener who encourages proactive action. The case involved considerable review of family assets and legal proceedings with other family members due to their business dealing with my now ex-spouse. The case also involved two rounds of mediation with a 3rd party lawyer from another firm. Shelagh was a valuable resource throughout, always putting my needs first in a fair and reasonable way. The final resolution left me in a much better place financially and emotionally. Shelagh deserves much of the credit. I highly recommend her services.

I don't know how I would've survived my divorce without Shelagh's knowledgeable input and tireless advocacy. She took the time to explain my options at each and every step in the process. Shelagh responds promptly and immediately to any and all questions or concerns. I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone requiring representation that is both compassionate as well as exceptionally astute.
