Debra was the lawyer I used for my divorce. She is very anti-courtroom. She wants to mediate everything even when your ex is crazy. She will talk you in to things you don't want and tell you you can't talk to a judge.Because of her I had to pay my ex husband in the divorce therefore file bankruptcy myself. Give him alimony and child support, even through I have full custody of the kids and he only has 3 weekend visits. The last time she was at the court has with me she didn't listen to anything I said and gave my ex husband every thing he asked for. He actually thanked her at the end of the day!! She is really over booked with clients as well. Many times she had to send a substitute lawyer she "rented" to ask for a continuance because she was too busy to make the court dates.

I hired Debra J. Burdette to end my divorce. She was my lawyer for 40 days. She is a terrible Attorney. Do not waste your money or time dealing with Debra J. Burdette. I am very surprised she is still in business, even for the short 5 Years she has been licensed to practice law.
Here is what I experienced:
- Lots of promises from Debra before retaining her services.
- Promptly after retaining, Debra did not return emails or calls... or call when she said she was going to call.
- Debra has no office support
- Debra doesn't "work" Thursdays or Fridays, or weekends.
- Debra has no time for anything, leaving everything to the last minute, then mistakes made and no follow-up.
- Debra has a terrible temper and will yell at you.
- Debra is very biased and will only fight for what she feels is correct.
- Debra ended up acting like she was working for the opposing council. She disclosed wrong information to opposing council.
- Debra did not uphold her promises and ultimately was

Debra Burdette is amazing..She walked in to court and blew the other side out of the water. Opposing Counsel was left standing there...like What just happened? Ms.Burdette has reasonable rates, she actually cares about her clients and she puts %150 in to everything she does. She became not only my attorney and my hero, but also my friend. I highly recommend her.
