Alex Gillespie (Toronto lawyer - Glaw)is a liar and fraud. DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER! I hired Alex in 2011. After I paid $5000 for his retainer agreement he became nearly impossible to contact. He phoned me up in 2012 asking for more money and spoke quickly about random things in relation to my case. Said there were "new discoveries", asked for another $5000. I paid him $5000 more as he requested. Time went on with no trial date and he was again nearly impossible to contact. Whenever I did get through he would apologize and ask to call back "tomorrow at noon" or "11am Thursday next week". I would call at those times and he would not answer. I paid him $19000 over 3 years and received no court date as he promised. He suddenly encouraged me to drop my matter in 2014 and promised me a refund if I did. I agreed and he has not paid a cent of the refund he promised. I cannot get a hold of him. This lawyer needs to be stopped! Contact dawson_43@hotmail.com if you have been abused by this lawyer

He is a horrible lawyer - and I agree with the others, he should be disbarred. Took him months to communicate, led me on to believe he was actually doing something, wanted more money. Do not use Alexander Gillespie at Gillespie Law. Horrible Lawyer. Gillespie Law - is a one man firm and a lair and fraud - "Gillespie Law" Toronto - Horrible Lawyer!

Horrible. I paid him a retainer and he said he would promptly begin work. All he had to do was get an eight page document from my partner's lawyer, read and advise me. It took him nearly 6 weeks for 2.5hrs of work! His website isn't even finished. He does not reply to emails or phone calls and keeps saying he is sorry and will have it done tomorrow. In the end, he didn't even do the updates and submitted something my partner's lawyer couldn't understand... what a waste. Do not hire this person.
