Mr Linde represented me in a child custody case from 2006 to 2017. He was honest, knowledgeable, compassionate, and tenacious. There was a period of about a year when I had no money to pay his legal fees and he continued to represent me for free. Another time he went to court without telling me because I was about to undergo serious surgery. I was not billed for this and in fact I only found out a long time after this happened. I do not believe any of the disparaging claims made against Carey linde.

I retained Carey Linde through the suggestion of another local lawyer here as I’ve been going to court for years with numerous incompetent lawyers. He attended one hearing for me and pointed out. The other lawyer did not address all the applications as he suggested they were, but he then removed himself because I only had credit card to pay him and only wanted cash and all he kept talking about was that he was almost 80 years old all the time really too old to be a lawyer like most of the legal system although he seems sincere , It was disappointing to pay him money upfront only for him to remove himself less than a week later when he told the judge, he would be reviewing my file further was very misleading and at $500 an hour. Your money does not go too far.

This man came with all the right things to say and promised me the world. He told me he'd apply to represent me up in the Yukon and half way through the process stopped and said it was too beaurocratic. Then he charged me $2400! Which I believe is illegal since he's not legally allowed to practice in the Yukon. In the meantime his communication was horrible and he was way too busy which he said he wasn't. Do yourself a favor and don't hire this guy. Save yourself the stress.

Mr. Linde did not know the law applying to my family law case, and did not understand what was the likely judgement. Lawyers are paid to tell you what are your chances of victory for your case in chambers, in this case Mr Linde did not know what the law is, and was simply all too happy to take my money to go to chambers.
The case he prepared in my defence was subpar and close to useless.
When it was Mr. Linde’s turn to speak on my behalf at chambers, he proceeded to stammer and stutter through my case, jumping from one topic to another barely making any sense. He could barely remember a thing about my case, even turning on a few occasions to opposite counsel for help to find information he was looking for in our own presentation!! I actually felt embarrassed to see him present
He completely failed to include important exhibits in my Affidavit, and was simply unable to address false accusations.
Mr. Linde happily took my money and provide less than mediocre service.

January 2020 Mr. Linde and I crossed paths at Supreme Court New West. Minutes before, I prayed for The Holy Spirit to guide me to the truth, be witness of the truth no matter the outcome & guard my thoughts from reverting to old emotional behaviours. Upon entering court, opposing council was requesting to Stand Down to negotiate & delay. We all proceeded to the common area. I did not noticed Mr Linde sitting across as my attention was on the two lawyers badgering me with the proposal I denied days earlier. This time I unfortunately began to entertain their ideas. I could only imagine that Mr. Linde’s perspective in respect to witnessing two lawyers flanking an UNREPRESENTED FATHER, using their skillset to sway my opinion was unfair to say the least. Mr. Linde’s intuition to aid a stranger from a malicious strategy and his innate ability to analyze their proposal as tricky was aoustanding. Mr. Linde's honest actions yielded the Adjournment I was seeking. Forever your friend! Tyler.

Carey Linde is an interesting fellow. I will always look for the good in every individual and my experience is Carey Linde is an excellent bad example. If you are seeking a high priced lawyer who will do basically nothing Carey Linde is your man, other than demand his fees. If you are seeking a high priced lawyer who will not produce a single piece of paper to represent you or your case, Carey Linde is the person you are seeking. It could be you are seeking a high priced lawyer willing to give up everything you have in order to collect his fees, yes Carey Linde is your guy. If you are interested in listening to someone brag about their incredibly high fees, brag about their legal knowledge and prowess in the legal system, Carey Linde will gladly bill you to listen to him talk about himself.

Never listened to his clients needs, was never prepared for court, even though his client would tell him what he is looking for and what he should bring up in court, once in court Carey did not mention again that him and his client discussed. at the end he basically told his client to accept what was being offered or he will not represent him. Even though he knew about the abuse he still would not fight for what the client is entitled too. I thought that a lawyer was suppose to work for you? Look elsewhere if you need a lawyer Carey Linde is not and will not represent you in court.

I hired Carey to represent me in getting shared parental custody with my son. I had previously hired another lawyer who did nothing for me and charged me $4000. Carey was the right lawyer from the start. He communicated clearly. Because of his background in Psychology, he provided insight into the mentality of my son's mother that I find most lawyers don't have or understand. He has a way of understanding people and circumstances beyond what the face value of the law says. He was key to me winning my case and exhibited a determination and assertiveness that was appropriately needed for my case. I would recommend Carey to anyone going through a similar case of shared parental custody. I only put a 4 out 5 for Value as I think that hiring a lawyer in general for any situation is very expensive. That being said, I think Carey was worth every penny and ended up saving me tens of thousands of dollars. And because of his proficiency he ended up costing me less than my first lawyer.

Incompetent. I overheard other lawyers joke about him at the law library. He sent me an nsf cheque for $1800 when I realized he was a dangerous idiot and severed the relationship. Divorce for men? Garbage by a dishonest incompetent! He failed to disclose that he had represented my ex until it was brought to his attention at which point he wanted me to pay him to fight that dispute. He is everything that is wrong with our stupid legal system. Truly a grifter.

Like a few others have mentioned, this guys seems to care only for his paycheque. He is unethical and makes costly mistakes like not advancing paper work until the last minute and submitting the wrong documentation. Do your research

Carey is the absolute best lawyer in Vancouver. If you want your child, he's the only choice as he is focused on the best outcome for the child. It was the best money I every spent. His conversion rate at trial is 90% plus. You will note opposing clients writing bad reviews about him, don't believe it.

The only flaw with Carey is old age. Otherwise, he is as honest and compassionate as a family lawyer can be. I have dealt with him for the last nine years and got free advise for the first 2 and paid less than he could have billed for the last seven.

Subsequent firing my lawyer due to lack of compassion and understanding for my situation, I hired Mr. Linde. That was the smartest thing I ever did for my daughter and I!
Mr. Linde and his staff were attentive to my needs and more than understanding to my unique situation. After all was said and done, the court awarded me (4) out of (7) days a week with my (1) year old daughter. No need to ask me if it was money well spent...the visitation schedule says it all. And Mr. Carey’s paralegal assistant, Mr. Armstrong was simply the BEST!
Though I never thought I would see the inside of a court room, I am glad that I saw it with Mr. Linde by my side.

Carey cares primarily about children, he fights for them and not for the client or for the money. I recommend him to anybody who is trying to do right by their child.

Mr. Linde represented me in a mobility case over the course of about 2.5 years. He had been recommended to me by four professionals, one of whom had been an opponent in a legal matter. I found him to be very caring and compassionate, both about me and about the welfare of my kids. He fought hard on our behalf and the outcome was good: I have custody of my kids virtually 50% of the time. It should come as no surprise to anyone that lawyers are expensive. However, Mr. Linde continued to represent me even when it became clear I no longer had the means to continue paying him. I found his staff to be exceptionally helpful and hard-working. Prior to choosing Mr. Linde, I met with several other lawyers, none of whom inspired much confidence. I am glad I chose Linde.

Worst Law office I've ever dealt with never got answers never got anywhere and they got 10,000 dollars and I'm in the same position as before. They procrastinated my case for years and made it worse!

I suspect the previous ratings are from disgruntled opposing parties. I wasn't successful on every application, but I ended up getting more than I hoped for. If you're a man, you need Carey in your corner. You can accuse the guy of losing your case or being too expensive, but you cannot accuse of him not caring about your kids. I would not believe it.

I echo the comments of the other ratings. He has an excellent knowledge base so I give him that credit. He will tell you what you want to hear in order to secure you as a client. But over the years has grown tired, has burned out and is living on long ago triumphs. What has he done lately? He has his staff do all the work and thus is unprepared for Court. He tries to wing it in Court and is oblivious to the specific facts of each case. His arguments in Court are just regurgitations of cases, but stumbles when questioned of the details of your case.I agree that he runs his firm solely as a money making business with little concern for his client's potential life altering outcome. The bottom line has his firm made money.

my case was not cheap, a complete nightmare to be honest, but it was worth every penny being able to see my kids again. i had two lawyers before i settled for this one. no one can do what this firm can do if you're looking for a custody lawyer.

This lawyer is terrrible. He says what you want to hear and seemed interested so you would go with him. He has no interest in your case or where you are coming from. He's not friendly and does not listen to what you want. He just wants your money. He oftens goes away on holidays and have his paralegal to do his job. He does not prepare you for court related matter. He has no plans or solid strategies for the case......very disappointed.
