Peter is very knowledgeable on all levels and provided smart and solid advice during my entire divorce process. Peter is compassionate and a good listener. Bergen County has great family judges and Peter know them very well. He advised me for every angle of the case and did his best to prepare for them. We don't get all we want in life, but I got what I needed, the custody of my children and the child support.
How you treat people shows your true self and character. He is a person of integrity. He is a lawyer, an inter mediator, problem solver, a good person, family-man. Peter Van Aulen did a very good job during my custody issue with my ex wife. He was very professional thorough and very well versed in custody battle. His representation gave me a chance to be able to gain my rightfull visitation with my children. Even with the nasty, lying tactics of his opponent, he was able to to argue my case that resulted with me having able to get what I needed to have to be able to establish my contact with my children again. Mr. Van Aulen did a VERY POOR job representing me on my divorce/child custody case. After thousand of dollars in legal fees you would expect some advice on negotiating a worable parenting time schedule with my son's mother instead I had to spent hours researching relevent information myself. It was clear to me my son's mother went well prepared by her lawyer to our child custody mediation meeting. I conntaced Mr. Van Aulen becasue of his good reviews here but from my experience his work turned out to be more inline with the no so good reviews posted here. I could have saved a lot of money and still get the same results representing myself.

PETER VAN AULEN IS A VERY WELL EDUCATED, ORGANIZED AND CARING LAWYER AS WELL AS A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND HIS ASSISTANT DEBBIE IS TRULY THE BEST. I could not be more pleased with the results of my divorce. As a male defendant in a divorce in New Jersey, Peter aggtressively lobbied for what was important to me. Pete wins, period. He won at trial, he won in my custody fight, he won for me financially... he beat a false charge against me that could have ruined me...through research and communication with me, he exposed lies made by his adversary and presented them well in front of the judge, he knows the law and he genuinely cares about his clients. Peter has ethics. There are things he simply won't do for his clients if they even approach a question of ethics and that is a good thing. We fought against the opposing attorney who had no ethical standards whatsoever and who tried anything to win no matter how unethical or untrue his lies were... and Peter still beat him down every step of the way. At the end of a divorce like mine, I am certain the results would not have been nearly as favorable it I didn't have Peter on my side.
