Don't trust this lawyer "Minor's Counsel" This lady is a turncoat in or Family Court System. I personally witness this lawyer completely lie to the Judge on three occasions now. Once I had to subpoena her documents to get my point across. First, she believes she can interview a child in 15-20 minutes whom she had no prior contact with for the more than a year and testify and recommend on that child's best interest in regards to Education, Health, and Welfare. In addition BEWARE she will only interview one parent and give that one parents allegations to the court without interviewing the other parents. Second she believes the rules of court do not apply to her. Hence Rules of Evidence. Do not allow her to present testimony that came from anyone other than herself. Hearsay. Be ready to object and object often. She does not file any reports when the court so orders here to do so. DEMAND her to file a report. Rules are rules so do not allow her to break them

I was referred to Ms. Carfrae and hired her as my divorce attorney. She seemed aggressive in the beginning, but was basically non-existent throughout the process. About 98% of my conversations were with the paralegal who has an incredible attitude. I think I met with Ms. Carfrae, once in the initial consultation and once when it was time to go to court where her mind seemed to be elsewhere. She was more interested in getting the papers signed and calling it a day than fighting for her client. I understand that talking with the paralegal is cheaper than the attorney, but I didn't hire a paralegal. Don't hire this attorney, it's a waste of time and money.

Dorothy very rarely talks to you after the first consultation. She takes your money and then you only speak to the paralegal who cannot get answers for you because Dorothy ignores her paralegals too. Do not hire her if you value your money and time. Hire any other attorney except Carfrae.

Dorothy represented me in my difficult divorce. She was referred to me by Court staff in Norwalk when I asked them if they can give me the name of a good attorney. She got me a good settlement and a custody plan that works for my kids and me. I cannot ask for anything other than what's fair. There is no winning in a divorce. Dorothy did her job well and was very caring about my case. I feel that I was very well represented.

Dorothy Carfrae was appointed by the Court to represent my 2 children in a highly emotional (child abuse) case. She did an excellent job to protect my children from their biological "father" and any further abuse. I am very grateful as a mom.

I hired her for a high conflict divorce and child custody case. I needed somesome who had zero tolerance for nonsense and who wantedto get my case resolved. She seemed very aggressive and knowledgeable at the beginning. I later found she rescheduled numerous court dates without my knowledge. She conducted conferences with opposing counsel and did not inform me. She refused to take my calls. When I requested an appointment to meet with her, I was advised by her office that was not necessary. She had a paralegal named Jennifer who was very knowledgable and professional. I continued to request billings from her office and never received them. Ultimately I had to fire her, demand my file and obtain another attorney. She told me I could not get a divorce until I settled my custody issue. I later obtained a bifurcation of marriage while representing myself. Do not hire this attorney! She is a waste of time and money!
